That sounds logical.

Well it's obviously based on the IS because it looks just like the IS sedan, minus two doors. Hmm I don't like the name change though, if that truly will be the name they use. IS for the sedan, ISC for the coupe, ISC-C for the convertible and ISF for the this black Beast pictured here. Those names would suffice. BMW is getting rid of the 3series name and changing it to 4series which will have it's own variations. The name RC for an obvious IS is just silly and it sure does remind me of a cheap cola(RC cola) and/or a Remote Control toy car. Silly name if Lexus names it that.

except that pic is likely just someone's (not lexus) imagination - if you read the text, it says nothing about coupe, just an rc350 trademark.

Yup, it is anyone's guess right now.

If you ask me, R stand for SUV like the R in RX. C stand for coupe.

RC = SUV coupe/crossover coupe............aka BMW X6, Acura ZDX, Evoque. So a RX with a fast coupe like roof line.

Lexus don't sell pickups and there is already a Tundra Platinum that is pretty much Lexus grade.

Ooooic. Well the other half of my reply still stands hahaha The acronym RC is not going to win people over, if i'm not mistaken. Its already a Lexus, which is a Toyota, and Toyota has "Toy" in it and apparently a lot of American and Euro enthusiast already poke fun at Japanese cars as being too "Racer Boy".....So RC is a bad choice for a name. Remote Controlled Toy-ota/Lexus. Boo for RC

That would be like an Audi 5-series or Benz E-Class coupe huh, interesting.

Just realized you got 2/3/4 GS, you need to trade your ES300 for a first gen GS300, that would be so cool to own every generations!

IMHO, to even be considered for the title of "M3 killer" the following is critical:

RWHP: >380
Optional 6sp manual
Curb weight of no more than 3600lbs (3300lbs preferred)

Fall short of those and get in the back of the line, before we've even started the conversation of handling and braking (no point to even go there if you fail on the first three items above).

Pretty soon, M3 and ISF could be one identical car. No need to argue which one is better anymore.

That's baloney. They're only sharing certain technology for fuel cells and a possible joint venture on a sports car. The M4 isn't a sports car, neither is the IS-F.

Does the current M3 even fulfill the third criteria? (weight)

Yes, that will totally dominate.... in a waste of R&D. A carbon fiber frame would kick the pricing of this car into orbit and no one would buy it. Part of the allure of the GT-86 is that it is well done an AFFORDABLE. If the GT-86 were a $35k-$40k car, no one would buy it.

Completely agreed. It needs a REAL DCT option too and not this fake auto transmission paddle shifter thing. Toyota should be embarrassed that the Ford Coyote 5.0 (a motor that went from design to release in the span of 2 years) can make the same power as the IS-F motor even when running on 87 octane.

Yes, it does. M3 coupes are around 3500lbs, give or take; many mags are quoting the wrong numbers. There's a reason the DCT M3s can run 111-112mph traps bone stock.
