Saw this on Leno's garage. Very interesting for car restorers. I'd love to see results in person

Wow, that is actually very cool! I've seen people try to use chrome vinyl on smaller pieces, but this stuff looks way better! Very interesting find!

I never knew it was dangerous/difficult to chrome things. I always see people getting their rims chrome-dipped

That's pretty damn awesome!!! If you've never been to a chrome shop, man the chemicals they use are pretty damn rugged, like undiluted acids and all kinds of nasty stuff.

I'm not sure I'd get a whole bumper redone that way, but for smaller trim bits this would be awesome.

If you've ever restored an older car, much of the "chrome" started out life as "pot metal" or "pewter" as it was called in some shops. It was a cheap, low-grade casting that showed up in hood ornaments, tail lights, and horn rings that couldn't survive a dip in the acid bath required when re-plating. I tried, ending up with a nice solution of my Dodge's hood ornament. Shoulda paid more attention in chemistry class. This would have saved me a LOT of digging through junkyards to find marginally "better" pieces to install on my project car.

We'll see what kind on monstrosities will come out from West Coast Customs once they get their hands on this stuff.

uh oh.

seeing how easy it is to spray the chrome and color tint it, soon Justin Bieber and 50 Cent will be driving different shades of this chrome on their cars
