Default Lexus HS Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Prototype Spotted

Seems to be pretty old, but didnt see this posted yet. Im sure they are just testing out the technology, but noticed the slightly different front grill.

A Lexus HS hydrogen fuel-cell prototype has been spotted in Death Valley by CAR Magazine spy photographers.

With the front grille being the only exterior difference compared to the standard HS, there’s only one way its secret could be revealed — here’s the HS on a fuel stop:

This comes one week after Toyota USA president Jim Lentz announced that a hydrogen fuel-cell sedan would debut in 2015 — at the time, no further details were given, including what brand the vehicle would be released under.

Even with the HS test mule, there’s no concrete evidence that this fuel-cell sedan would be a Lexus — still, it makes for some interesting speculation. Would you be interested in a hydrogen-powered Lexus?

Although the HS is defunct in the U.S, it actually sells well in Asian and European markets.

Perhaps it continues to evolve in such markets...

it is just a test mule, nothing else... HS does not sell in Europe, only in Japan as far as I know.

It appears Lexus has big plans for the HS.

Like the take of hydrogen sedan for the HS...lol

Maybe Lexus could call it the HS h1 where the "h" is for hydrogen and 1 for the first element on the periodic table of elements...

HS was used probably because it had similar size to their next generation hydrogen platform.... It makes sense since HS has same wheelbase as Prius and is based on European Avensis.
