Default Need help on new car decision

CL members I need some of your wisdom I am in the market for a certified used car in the 12-19k range. I have been looking at V6 sedans mostly Accords and Camrys. Any suggestion on what is the best buy between the two(2006-2009). I know the early 2000's Honda V6 the transmissions were basically junk are the later models any better? Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

So, reliability is a big factor.

Might as well go with a previous gen TSX. You can get a CPO '08 for about $20k.
How about a CPO Lincoln MKZ? You can get an '06-'07 for about $20k too.

But if you are looking for something around $15k and is still CPO, an Accord and Camry will do. Camry Hybrid for kicks? You can get an '07 CPO Camry Hybrid for about $16k...

Some recent Camry V6 models also had defective automatic transmissions, but not to the same scale as the early 2000s Honda Accords and Acura TLs. If you are looking at something in the 12-19K range, though, you probably won't have to get an Accord that old....you can look at something newer and more reliable (check Kelly Blue book.....kbb.com....for specific model-years and trim levels). And, remember, a CPO will usually add several hundred dollars to the average retail value of a used-car because of the added inspections, repairs (if needed), and the special warranty it gets.

I myself am not a big fan of the current-generation Camry (2006-present)....especially with the quality of the interior and dash. I wasn't that impressd with the last one I reviewed....an SE sedan.

Yes, the TSX is reliable (it is based on the non-U.S. version of the Honda Accord), but (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think it ever offered the V6 he wants.

The Lincoln MKZ, like the Ford Fusion it is based on, is generally reliable, but, according to Consumer Reports, the AWD version is less-reliable then the FWD.

If you don't want to think about it at all, get a 05 or 06 Acura with 80k+ miles and drive until the wheels fall off

What about an 08-10 Hyundai Sonata V6 or Mazda6? Both are quality cars with less price premium than Honda or Toyota.
