yup, seems to be coming at the expense of the IS unfortunately, whose sales are down 14%.

Subaru of America, Inc. Enjoys Best November Ever, Confirms All-Time Sales Record
-- Sales up 22% year over year, all model lines up --
-- Record November for Legacy sedan, Outback and Forester --
CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc. continues its record-breaking run with the best November in the company's history with sales of 20,792, a 22% increase on November 2009.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20080325/SUBARULOGO )

November also saw individual records broken for Legacy sedan, Outback and Forester, while the Impreza line saw a 33% jump in sales.

Subaru's year-to-date sales are also noteworthy. The company's previous full-year record of 216,652, set in 2009 was eclipsed by November 3 with sales of 237,126 already posted. The brand is now up 23% year-to-date and already 10% ahead of the 2009 full year with December sales still to come.

Their product planning seems very odd to me.

I would expect that it will be more popular in the next gen when they can put more into advertising, marketing, engineering, pricing, etc.
Well over 20 years of evidence has provided us to realize most of the time their management has no clue.

Hogwash. How does one reasonably conclude that the G25 is taking away IS sales when we don't even know the G25 breakdown? There might have been 50 sold. Why is it not Genesis sales? Maybe it was 3 series sales? How can anyone make that conclusion?

The IS down 14% is nothing, its older and we all know Lexus has taken a PR hit this year. Its ridiculous to conclude its due to ANY one model.

With the addition of the first full month of sales of the exciting new Outlander Sport compact CUV, Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) today announced November sales were 4,306, an increase of more than 47 percent compared to November 2009. This represents Mitsubishi's largest year-over-year percentage increase for a single month in more than ten years (June 2000).

"The excitement of our sales team and dealer partners for the new Outlander Sport was contagious, because customers responded in a big way,
" said MMNA President & CEO Shin Kurihara. "And the showroom traffic translated into increases for Outlander and some of our other vehicles, as well."

In November, MMNA launched its ground-breaking marketing program for the Outlander Sport by holding the World's 1st Online Test Drive of a vehicle, through which 52,000 consumers participated in the Guinness Book of World Records-breaking "Live Drive" event by registering at outlandersport.com.
November sales highlights include:

* Outlander sales were up 64 percent and are up more than 23 percent for the year to date.
* Endeavor sales nearly quadrupled compared to last year (up 329 percent) and are up more than 34 percent for the year.
* Galant sales were up almost 4 percent compared to last November, and are up 6.6 percent year-to-date.
* Lancer Evolution sales were up more than 46 percent for the month.
* Mitsubishi sales have increased 2.4 percent year-to-date.

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced record November sales of 26,601 vehicles, a 48.2-percent increase over the same period last year and the company's eighth monthly sales record this year. With one month remaining in 2010, KMA's sales are up 16.8 percent over 2009 and Kia has already exceeded its previous full-year sales record set in 2007.

KMA's sales were led in November by the U.S.-built(1) 2011 Sorento with sales of 9,618 units. Sorento has been Kia's best-selling vehicle each month since going on sale in January, and together with the brand's stable of other recently introduced vehicles – the Soul, Forte and Forte Koup, and the Sorento, Sportage and all-new Optima – accounted for 84.3 percent of the monthly sales volume.

"Surpassing our previous best annual U.S. sales mark in just 11 months is the ultimate proof of the dramatic impact Kia's design-led transformation is having on the brand in terms of increased consumer awareness and consideration of Kia," said Byung Mo Ahn, group president and CEO of KMA and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG). "Our transformation continues with the all-new 2011 Optima now arriving in showrooms, to be followed in the coming months by the introduction of our 1st turbocharged and hybrid vehicles in the U.S."

I am left scratching my head with the 7 Series.

The older LS and S have been handily outselling it for a while and I thought that the addition of the 740i would have bumped up the numbers a bit.

Panamera, a somewhat niche car, has been close to 7 Series sales figures for the last few months. It makes me wonder if those looking for a sporty flagship may have turned on BMW and instead gone over to Porsche.

IMO, it's obvious that Mercedes and Lexus are the leaders in this class because they offer what buyers really want. Luxury and innovation are first and foremost with sport taking a backseat. 7 Series is still a great car but BMW just cannot outdo Merc and Lexus at their own game, and this is where both are most at home.

On a somewhat related note, XJ sales continue to be dismal and the A8 is just barely hanging on.

Saab – Up 1 percent to 397

Chrysler – Down 23 percent to 9,664

Hummer – Down 89 percent to 25

Pontiac – Down 99 percent to 7

Saturn – Down 99 percent to 3

This is very troubling news for Toyota. When you see that almost the whole industry is up [significantly] over last year, while Toyota is down. Most of the other ones that are down are the dead brands - Saturn, Pontiac, Hummer, & Mercury. Chrysler and Dodge are hopeless at this point. The only somewhat viable brands other that Toyota also down is Volvo and Jaguar but we know they're having issues.

As others have stated, Toyota needs a surge of new product to boost things. The new Camry better be spectacular. This months Camry lead is the smallest in a long time. Even the Corolla took a good hit. Other issues like their reputation recovery and the Yen hopefully make a quick turnaround.

Exclamation Camry

The power of the Camry never ceases to amaze me (not to mention its off-shoots like the RX350). Sales are down 27.4% & yet it still outsells everything else in its class -- even tho they all have increases in sales:
Camry 20,737 -27.4%
Accord 19,025 +5.8%
Altima 18,372 +18.6%
Fusion 17,647 +28.1%
Sonata 14,031
Malibu 11,651 +4.8%
Cruze 8,066
Legacy 3,133 +12%
6 2,789 +21.4%
Optima 1,289
Kizashi 729
Passat 313 -17%

^ Wonder why the Cruze is included here. The Cruze competes with the Corolla/Civic compact class. The Malibu's inclusion is the correct competitor.

Toyota may have to pull out all the stops on the Camry to maintain #1 until the 2012 comes out. The Accord is dangerously close, never mind the Altima.
