Is Lexus comming out with a smaller RX?
Hi all,
I'm in the market for a small luxury SUV/CUV for my wife. We are test driving the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, BMW X3, Acura RDX, and even the RAV4 (fully loaded 3.5L V6). We live in SF, and the RX350 is just too big for my wife. Is Lexus planning to come out with a compact SUV? Possibly something based on the RAV4 platform or a shrunk down RX?
Thanks!

A smaller RX will most likely take away sales from the RX itself. But it is something that Lexus needs to provide to compete with other automakers.
Rumor is that future RX will have an optional long-wheel-base version to accommodate a third row. The RX is gonna get bigger, so I see a smaller SUV model in the future.

it's a small suv, it competes directly with the honda crv.....now luxury would be in the eye of the beholder.
a well equipped sportage is pretty luxury! it's a very hot looking small suv no joke!

mom's been wanting an SUV for her daily commute. we looked at both the x3, Q5, MDX, and RX, and though she is certain on the RX, she did mention that it was a bit large for her. it'd be nice if there was a smaller version of the RX, but as SNiiP3R and Phil said earlier, it would take away sales from what is already a great selling product.
Lexus has been revealed RX 270 in China market already.
