I mean more expensive cars will cost more to keep running and its no secret German cars will break down. Not sure what Forbes is saying here.

 

With the exception of #1 and #2, that is my dream car list. I would pick any one of those out of a hat to drive and be happy...that is, until the repair bills!

Sounds like voodoo science to me.

 

Isn't it obvious, don't buy big engined German vehicles because they depreciate a lot and are not reliabe, and also don't buy American trucks either....

But really, something that's over $80K and in no means will become a "classic" vehicle over time, will depreciate much more than a vanilla $20K vehicle like say a Civic.

Look at how fast and much that the LS's depreciate over time... makes them very appealing vehicles in the CPO/Used car market.

 

Man, I would love to have any one those German babies.

And Mercedes is well aware of it's reputation for (un) reliability (even if they don't discuss it openly). It's very apparent when you look at the engineering and reliability testing that went into the all new, current gen C-class. But I question if they will stick to the new program with the introduction of new models. Time will tell.

I remember an article that showed the Top 10 Cars with greatest depreciation within 3 or 5 years. I think Mercedes took 8 out of 10 spots! Most of them were the AMG line (SL63, E63, etc).
