My uncle had his C6Z sent off to be turned into a convertible sometime in March by a company called Caravaggio. It's getting a new interior also. I though that he should've started off with a C6 Vert and modded from there but hey, he's got cash to burn. The number of these in the US is in the single digits.
The car is also Procharged and makes around 650whp I believe. He sent me these a few days ago.
I'm sorry, I may be a bit Petarded, but huh? I don't understand the point of this vehicle? The Z06 is an incredibly beautiful, perfomance beast....why do this and not buy the vert like suggested?
Whatever floats your boat I guess. As long as the owner likes it props to him for being able to afford such a car and doing to it what he pleases. That is what its all about. That said. I don't like it at all. I'm not a fan of convertibles, so to take a perfectly good Z06 and chop the top off just doesn't work for me. I think all cars look better in their coupe form vs convertible form.
The car has probably lost some chasis rigidity. I have a friend who has a convertible M6 and I have always wanted to ask him why he went without the carbon fiber roof and the added chasis rigidity. The convertibles add 400lbs to the M6's. I would rather the hard top and no wrinkles and skin cancer
Ridiculous. Just because you have cash to burn doesn't mean you should go about it the wrong way. Buy the vert, then mod it. A one-off convertible conversion with some structural reinforcements will not drive as well as a vehicle designed as a convertible. I doubt the conversion is as safe in a crash also.

+1, 100%!!
I think a better option would be to remove the "permanently" affixed Z06 roof panel...it can be and has been done, looks a lot better IMO.
I can't get very excited about this. Convertible Vettes are so common around here.....................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........................................., but yes I know it's a Z06.
