Who cares how it's designed? The two words I used were "weak" and "6.0".
The LS6 in the C5 ZO6 was 405 HP. It was OHV and only 5.7L
Hell, even the new Hyundai 4.6L is 375 HP!

In todays HP wars, if you're building 6.0 V8's with only 360 HP, you're falling behind the times.

Please, go on with your comparison of the C5 Z06 and the Genesis sedan...I'm all ears.

Oooops, my bad! And to think this whole time I thought we were comparing HP/L ratios.

if they just got rid of that ugly Pontiac front grill it would sell a ton!

So many nice domestics that get butchered when brought to the US, Holden's, Opel's, Ford Cosworths. If we get them at all. No wonder the domestics are dying, they won't give the people what they want, they have the cars, they just fail at bringing them over or they rebage or redesign exactly what makes them so desireable in the first place. Ugh.

Times stock for stock should be similar. Thing is while you really can't mod the GS 350 engine, this thing will be a modders dream and with a few tweaks you can hit 12s easy.

I've seen slips for 11s on drags with some work done to the engine.....Reliable, easy to fix, easy to mod......

GS 350 is a marvel.

Great video as always! It was almost as fast around the track as a 911 Turbo!

0-60 under 5 seconds... that's a FAST car.

If that magazine was comparing the SRT8 charger to the G8, they are crazy. SRT8s trap high 100s all day long. When Camry's run almost 100mph traps, 101mph isn't that fast. Its a delayed launch on some roll-on action with a V6 Camry that will cause it to lose and never catch up.

I think the 360hp is a big mistake. Why not drop a detuned LS3 in there? That engine is a BEAST

It's OHV, not OHC. OHV is generally lighter and more efficient than an OHC of the same size. The tradeoff is less power. You can't have it all.

Let me put it this way: the Germans and Japanese could not make a better OHV engine than GM.
Concept of design? There's nothing keeping GM from using a OHC engine here other than not enough R&D money and being forced to use an OHV.

They are generally lighter, but no way in HELL more efficient. More compact yes. But OHC engines are MUCH more efficient than OHV engines. (as far as gas engine to gas engine can be compared in the efficiency department -- Diesels are much more efficient than either)

I do believe he's comparing the engine and not the car. But if you want to talk build quality; I'd bet the Hyundai is lightyears ahead of the C5 Z06
