Wish that test drive could've been longer

Let's see what DASHOCKER says, but I believe he has the GTO.
I don't see it being very fast; in fact it will most likely be slower than the GS350; its gonna weigh A LOT if GM keeps up with the current trends (a 4100-4200lb boat). I think the last power numbers I saw was like 360hp right?
I don't have the link in front of me, but I've think it runs low to mid 5s to 60.
Okay I found it.

Not bad, considering that Pontiac also says the G8 GT will do zero to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 13.8 seconds at 101 mph. That's quicker than the last Dodge Charger SRT8 we tested from zero to 60.
Also, the rubber seems a little thin in the back at 245. I'm guessing reducing wheel spin could make this car a flat-5 to 60, or very reliable in the low 5s. They could have staggered a bit and gone with 255s and 235s up front. Maybe I'm nitpicking.
Looks great (not as good as the Holden version though, as many mentioned), all the features/specs that matter, designed and built in Australia, and the price is great. The value this car represents is unbeatable. However, I don't think it's going to be a run-away sales success.
I would very seriously consider picking one of these up in about 2-3 years if I get rid of my Subaru. The base V6 is what impresses me most, good engine, 50/50 dynamics, only $27K!!!

Most people who bash output from domestic engines have no concept of design to begin with.
It's OHV, not OHC. OHV is generally lighter and more efficient than an OHC of the same size. The tradeoff is less power. You can't have it all.
Let me put it this way: the Germans and Japanese could not make a better OHV engine than GM.
By every standard out there. Nissan's 3.7L is 330 HP and it's a 6 Cyl.! 2.3L better buy me a lot more than just 31HP.
ISF= 416 HP 5.0
RS4=420 HP 4.2
M3 =414 HP 4.0
GTO=400 HP 6.0
Chevrolet's own corvette is just .2L bigger yet has nearly 70 more HP.
So, yea, it's weak for a 6.0.
