AUTOWEEK has just posted this shot of the next-generation GTO with some supporting data.
Let's see what public reaction to this new one will be. I heard a lot of complaints ( and did not agree with them ) that the 2004 looked too much like a rental car and that the hood-scooped 2005 is only marginally better.

I actually like the current design of the Holden Monaro/GTO.

 

Not a car I'd be interested in anyway, but that illustration is fugly

 

I think the biggest problem is it looks like every other pontiac...

some people like a "sleeper" car... go buy a Grand Prix GTP I say! The GTO has gotta be the most bland looking performance car out there so far

 

The front end lMO looks like the Pontiacs of the early-mid 1980's....especially the 6000 STE.

 

For the money, its a great car, IMO. The current styling, is not ugly though too bland. The G35 coupe just looks so much better for the same price.

That new pic, egads, they are going retro? It looks like a fake Mustang thing. I hope they keep the awesoe interior though...

I need to visit some GTO forums and see what mods people aer doing...

That is an illustration and I'm pretty sure the next gen GTO WON'T look like that. I like the current one. People knock its styling, but it doesn't really bother me. I don't think its ugly, the interior is one of the nicest ones i've sat in and it hauls A$$.

 

I'll take the look of a Ridegeline over this look anyday.

Damn, looks like a Mitsubishi & the designers were on really heavy drugs at the time!

 

That must be an early conception. The final design must have the BMWish twin kidney grille. Also would need more boddy cladding before it bears the name Pontiac.

 

man i hope that's not really it...wth is GM thinking? who's doing their design work?
