I guess I haven't shown you Lexus guys what I drive, so here it is.
Its nothing overly special, but its red, reliable, fuel efficient, and it can get to 60 MPH in under 8 seconds. I actually spent 9 months trying to find a manual transmission Legacy sedan. Who knew that they were so hard to find? However, it was worth the wait and this car handles the curves beautifully and of course dominates inclement weather. I have yet to ever get stuck in the snow and Ive pushed it pretty hard.
Ive added JDM foglights, JDM talights, an Apline audio system with Boston Acoustic speakers and tweeters, and a reverse glow guages.
Thanks. I live in central PA, in the mountains so yes winter is my favorite time of year.
The only drawback: Heated seats were a $100 option on this car and the original buyer didn't opt for them. Lame. Black leather is hot in the summer, but freezing in the winter.
I wish, but its not worth it. While the new Legacy GT does use the same 2.5L engine, this generation can only handle about 6 psi. It actually makes more sense to swap the 2.2L engine (from the L models of the 90s) and turbo that. Apparently it can handle alot of boost.
I respect their AWD systems unlike any other. When it snows here (yes we see snow in Texas) my friends WRX is the only car on the street thats able to do speed limit with no problem.
There was one time a few years back where I was doing donuts on my campus parking lot and I saw the university police coming (in a police Intrepid) so I left. They followed me so I started toward a hill that I knew of. And this was a steep hill, San Francisco steep I would say.
So anyway, I start up the hill and the Intrepid just stayed at the bottom, didn't even try to make it up. Well I got to the top of the hill and some idiot put a stop sign there. I spun and spun and spun all 4 wheels, and I got goin eventually. Then I had to come down. Thank God for ABS.
A few weeks later I went out got 4 new Goodyear Eagle RS-As and have never had any struggles since.
thats awesome! I was seriouslly looking for a Legacy GT but ended up getting a GS...something about those Subarus that seem worth more than what its worth...then again, im an ex SVX owner.
