I used to have a '96 GT. But yeah, 2nd gen. is my favorite too. Though to the new GT owners a GT without a turbo, isn't really a GT.
I thought the GTs have a turbo.. at least in Canada. I know cause my friend wanted a GT but his mum wouldn't let him (well it's the family car) so they got the 2.5i instead.
Can't you add heated seats from Katzkins or something (if you want it integrated that is). I know a few have added heated seats to the Prius.

Subaru dropped the turbo when the 2nd gen. Legacy debuted. They came out with a more fuel efficient alternative in 1996, the 2.5L, which was worthy competition for the Accord, Camry and Taurus V6s at the time (partly because the Legacy was lighter). The 2.5L is now in every U.S. Subaru except the Tribeca and in turbocharged form it propels the Legacy Spec. B to 60 MPH in 5.2 seconds.
Ive been meaning to go the junk yard and find a new legacy with heated seats, because the springs in my driver seat are pretty worn out. The wiring is there.

gotcha. Thanks for the history lesson!
The 250 or so hp on the Tribeca didn't feel like it when I test drove one of the first few Tribecas. It felt rather lethargic.
Those cars do nothing for me, but I did have a Mcintosh head unit removed from a JDM Legacy. VEERYY nice sound, especially if yours comes with the complete mcintosh system.

I heard they were pretty bad. Ive never driven a 6 cylinder Subaru, but I heard that the new 3.6L is a significant improvement. 30 ft lbs more torque, but its available at lower RPMS and runs off of regular gasoline instead of premium.

You heard right. I figured it's better in a Legacy since it'll be lighter and hopefully a different transmission.
Also, the H6s are expensive in Canada. I don't know about the latest 2008 Legacy but it used to be the only way to get stability control was to plop down > $40k (that's IS/G35 money) for the Legacy 3.0.. then buy the Legacy 3.0 VDC model.

I heard that Legacies in Canada were way over priced.
Expect the 3.6L (a more powerful version of it) in the Legacy in 2010 (the redesign). Supposedly its going to be direct injected. Subaru really got shot down with the new fuel economy ratings.

It's not just the Legacies, it's cars in general. I mean yes the prices have been restrained over the years (in fact Toyota *lowered* the price of the 2003 Corolla compared to the 2002 back then). But then again if you look at the prices, they're all calculated with an exchange rate of 1.5 (i.e back then when the loonie was 50¢ to the greenback ok.. more like 60¢).
Also Toyota of BC has a price fix policy (think Saturn or Scion.. except that it's not endorsed by Toyota Canada). It's sad no one's doing anything (or can't do anything?) about the collusion.
