You're telling me lol. No one seems to mind cause Toyotas are selling like hotcakes here.

Heck, every cab company in my city just replaced their fleet (almost all of it) with Toyotas. Instead of Crown Vics and Luminas, it's Corollas (CE, S, LE) and Camrys (Hybrid, LE, LE V6, SE) and Prius too.

It is a painful day for me. The day has come where I have to retire my Legacy GT. A ruptured HG and cracked block have sent the cost of repair well above the car's value. This is the car that got me through college and graduate school. It will surely be missed.

No idea what car that I will buy. But, I am a mobile therapist and I can't very well do this job without a car. Not sure what to do.

Definitely a solid car. What about driving the RX for your job?

I'm on this site because parent's own two Lexuses, neither of which belong to me. Fortunately I am living with them for a few more weeks so I have been able to borrow their cars.

I hate it when I open a thread and later realized that it was re-bumped from 4 years ago LOL I get so lost I thought you just got and then it blew right away, I was like WTF?!? LOLOL!! Anyways, the legacy is a pretty sweet car especial for the climate conditions you have to go through... and I'm sorry for your loss, it sucks to have major mechanical faliure on a car like that. So, are you going to go back into another Subi?? Maybe an STI this time around OR are you going to join the family bandwagon and get a LEX?? or to something just completely different LOL!! Anyways, hope you find the right next car for yourself!!

I am sorry to hear that. That was a beautiful car. Good luck finding a replacement.

Good news. I spent four hours in the shop last night and the engine is almost out. I've never pulled an engine on a car before, since this has been a great learning experience for me. Anyway, I drained the oil and found no evidence of any coolant in it. This is fantastic! Won't know more until later, but it looks as if two head gaskets is all I need.

I spent much of the day yesterday driving to find a new Legacy GT or WRX. Nothing. Not even the naturally aspirated models. I got the same response from every car lot I went to. "Subaru owners don't sell their cars." So maybe after I get this fixed mine will be worth something.

Hope you get it back on the road. Those old Legacy's were great. My parents had a Forrest green GT they bought new in 96/97-ish. Used to take it when I went skiing up at 7-Springs, and would bounce around the backroads of the Laurel Highlands all weekend long in it. Never got it stuck even once. It's one of the biggest reason the wife has an Imprezza for her DD today.

You live in a great area for that Legacy, so get her back on the road if you can!

Hope it goes all according to plan. These cars are so hard to find cause you are correct, people who bought them new or newer still have them, these and 4runners i feel are the same in that situation. At least where i live there are none for sale but i see them around all the time.
