Don't bash bimmer
We rarely bash BMWs, if anything its the owners. I find people bash Lexus period, just b/c its Japanese.
I have a great respect for the brand and do plan on owning one one day, either after Chris Bangle has met his maker or being an older model before he was born.lol
E46 M3 CSL=my fav bimmer of all time!

E46 M3 CSL was my dream car a few years ago.
However I still hold that all M3's are gay.
oh look, another Lexus and BMW thread....... i wonder if the BMW forums talk about Lexus' as much as CL members talk about bimmers? serious question....
I just can't wait for the is5 to come out... this site will be full of heated debates about it and the m3....

I will say this, CL, while it has it's fair share of "passionate" members, is one of the better places to get info on all cars.
i dont think its fair to compare a modified dinan 330 to a stock lexus. Flying sideways has little to do with your leather, when you fly sideways the car is body rolling with lots of weight transfer from one side to the other , and again comparing a dinan 330 with a older GS which isnt even in the same class nore built for the same purpose. Your comparing apples and oranges.

Obviously this varies depending on which dealer(s) you're working with, but I've found absolutely no difference in treatment between Lexus and BMW. They both like to treat you like royalty, but then refuse to fix your car under warranty.
i love the 335i but fully loaded as i like all my cars is $50k plus. now i know i could get a gs 4XX for just a few thousand more, and that is why i test drove it. i was left with the feeling after that i wouldn't spend $30k for it. trust me when i tell u that i wanted to love the car.
I can understand your point on that. Once you're spoiled by the feel of a BMW, it's hard to truly love another sport sedan. No matter how hard you try.
"oh, but the Lexus is more reliable blah blah blah..."
I don't think CL does a whole lot of bimmer bashing. If anything, most here (including me) have a healthy respect for BMW and what their cars are designed to do.
I agree with 4TehNguyen. I know he is not talking about the 335 but comparing cars based on price points is not really fair to the cars. The GS, although it is more on the sporty side, was not designed to go head to head against a smaller, nimbler class of cars.
Heck, as much as some would like to believe, even the IS line is not really a true competitor. Lexus will still try to maintain the Lexus luxury part of its marque. That is their forte. Until they choose to abandon the "luxury with some sport" idea, they will continue to cater to their core consumers. Unlike most driving enthusiasts, these buyers like what Lexus has to offer. I know people who complain of the ride quality of the IS. Imagine them driving in a BMW.

I'm a huge fan of BMW. I like the way it handles. I love driving them.
However, the reason why I have the Lexus is because it is more functional for me.
There are things that a BMW provides the Lexus cannot. I don't need such things.
There are things that a Lexus provides that a BMW cannot. I did want such things.
That's what it's all about. It's not about which is better for everyone, but which is better for the individual driving it...

i know it's not fair to compare cars of different classes but i am comparing cars that i like. i like the 650 and the 335. i pulled the gs out of the race. plus i like the fact that Dinan exists. my current car is a 330i with every dinan mod and it voided the warrany but the dinan warranty kicked in virtually the same as the bmw. the only difference is that i have to go to a dinan bmw dealership. my car is out of warranty but this really made the mods worth it. my girlfriend seems to love the is 350. if i get the 335 then she will get the is. if i get the 650 then she is getting a 3 series.
Glad you love your BMW.......I would post more but I have to go pick my Dad up at the dealership so he can get the power steering pump replaced for a 3rd time on his 04 M3. GO BEEMER!!!!!!!
Hmmm "Don't bash bimmer" but yet you come and bash the IS and GS......hmmmm. You sound similar to the 3 series driver at the light who shouted out nice toyota to me with a chuckle on his face. That chuckle quickly changed to a WTF soon thereafter.
