Default C&D Test: 2007 LS460

Here are the test data:

C/D test results (LS460):

0 to 60: 6.0s
1/4 mile: 14.5s @ 100 mph
70 to 0: 209 ft

I didn't read the review (my brain is too fried from work to read anything right now.)

Hmmm, was expecting better numbers than that. Did they do accleration tests on the sandy beach?!?!

Doesnt seem much faster than the current LS430 plus longish stopping distances IMO.

This was the SWB model right??

Isn't C/D known for test driving cars in a sissy matter?

C&D actually always gets the best times out of most other mags... They pulled a 13.7@101 (not too sure about that mph) with the IS350 in 90+ degree weather.

Those number are definatly lower than what I was expecting as well.

The braking numbers are horrible. I'll wait for a head-to-head comparison tested in their usual locations rather than this "preview" review before I draw any real conclusions.

This is what they claimed to get when they "added their test equipment" to their test car during Austria's press preview. So those were preproduction cars from few months back AND they probably used some kind of pocket size measuring device, if that....

on a side note, that is a pretty good trap speed for a 14.5 run.

Still though... I was expecting around 14.2ish

The extra weight hurt it? A lot of times their preview times are worse than the actual reveiw.

Of recent memory, they had a reviewer destroy the Acura TSX and call it missing the old Maxima, then it got reviewed and became a 10 best winner.

I will say the 0-60 time is very disapointing. Hell SLOWER than the 290hp LS!

C&D is one of the few mags to adjust for altitude and temp in all of their times.

Yes, IMO, they are one of the better mags for 0-60 times.

I scanned this article on an airplane and I believe they blamed the transmission. Eight gears are wonderful for bragging rights but somebody has to pick the ratios and then of course Lexus gets to electronically control it which sure doesn't help the GS. Competitive stats but not class leading by any stretch.

um, again - since other 100 or so articles did not mention measurment devices, I bet all they did is hookup some gps based measurment device to the preview car.

Again, this was claimed to be during world introduction in Austria that took place few months ago.

This was not a real review. As mentioned, this was simply a "pre review" of one of the pre-production LS cars at the Austria press event. Those numbers are way off, and really dissapointing, because C & D didn't do a *proper* review, and because these were not production cars.
