seriouesly, between this, the 750, and the upcoming s class, i have to choose the a8!
I agree. I think the Audi A8L is the best Large Luxury Sedan on the market right now. The new S is too much of a BMW. I don't like the arches above the wheel wells. I've always loved the S Class but the new design sort of cheapens the car. It doesn't do much for me anymore.
ahhh a Chrysler star edition Any of you ever get people calling your Lexus a "glorified Toyota" and tell you that Benzs are better? I do all the time and all I say is "I know thats why I love it and trust it so much!" but god..... those Benzs/Chryslers are garbage now days! the diesel Benzs are legendary but these new ones.....
My mom is a Benz freak and will probably be getting a CLS500 around September but I dragged her around with me to all the luxury manufacturers to at LEAST just sit in their cars and she really did like the A8 except for getting in, I guess there's a weird bump where the controls are on the side of the seat. But honestly, if I could convince her enough I would make her get the A8L because of looks, being unique, price, and did I mention looks? Plus, I like the interior a whole lot more, although the CLS is not lacking at all.
The reason I bring this up is because she has been quite upwardly mobile with the Benzes (starting with a C class in '98) and I know the time will come (maybe once she retires) where she'll be at the S class level. I know she'll want it "just because it's a Mercedes" but I will have to do everything in my power to stop her now from getting on that track. I like the CLS, and the outgoing S but the A8 beats them AND of course, this new S class.
P.S. MMI feels so good and is so much better than the original iDrive.
I sometimes wonder why they made a VW version of the A8. I mean if you want to pay $90,000 for a V12 VolkWagon, be my guest, but you still have the VW on the front....ouch
haha seriously, no. i have sat in a4 before but that's about it. my wife hates the 4 circles in the front so she says no audi no matter what. so i never paid much attention to it, except my beloeved rs4 and rs6

Maybe you should have spent more time looking at other cars(among other things ? ) rather than posting here when your wife is not around

Haha...funny how badge designs can be a show stopper for some people. I agree with your wife that the four circles don't really visually exude much sense of luxury. It's hard to pinpoint what they are, but there are definitely certain design elements in a badge that helps say "I'm a luxury car".
i like A8 and i think it's a great car overall. but surprisingly, i have seen only one or 2 A8L on the road since the day came out. i dont think sales are looking good for Audi.
I dont really like this S that much, yet. May be it will grow on me.
well it's a waste of time to spend time on something my wife won't get for sure
Just kidding with you Henry You mean you just spend time looking only at cars that you think you'll buy ? Nah, I look at all cars I find interesting. There are many cars that I like but will probably never buy.
