here are some more for you guys...

"The redesigned 2007 Mercedes S class will arrive in the United States in the first quarter of 2007. Initially it will be available as the S500, with a seven-speed automatic transmission and a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with 382 hp. The new S class is larger in every dimension than the current version. The wheelbase is 3 inches longer, and there is more interior room. The vehicle will be unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show in September and go on sale in Europe this fall. U.S. prices will be announced next year."

+80 HP, not too shabby

I know those Benz guys hate that thing lmao. When your own customers hate it then you know you have a problem. And I do believe the headrest in the middle is gone, I wouldn't have caught that.

The car doesn't look bad in that dark cherry, it hides those arches. This car looks Japanese or Korean, it doesn't look German at all. They did do a good job masking the size, since its bigger than the older model
Exactly.

I can honestly stomach the exterior ... it still has those high-lux proportions that have always made the S look so great.

But the interior is just unacceptable. I've discussed this with others before, and it's my thought that the 7-series interior (which this new S obviously mimicks) is without a doubt the worst high-luxury interior ever envisioned and brought to production. There really isn't anthing worse. Sitting in a new 7 truly moves one to feeling like visiting the Hyundai dealership to pre-order a new Azera.

I think it's possible for the new LS460 to have ~360 - 370 hp & still perform as well as the new S500, just like the current LS430 can have similar performance as the current S500.

1sick the new s500 will have 382-388hp i keep seeing two different numbers. 382 is a lot of power and this car does 0-60 in low to mid 5s. Im pretty sure lexus is examing the features of this car and will offer us more and it will perform similar to it like the ls430 and the s500. I hope they have higher versions of the LS like the S600.

That's likely to be the LS600h with the 4.6 litre V8 & the hybrid motors . . .
