Thanks for the article Marshall
M6 all the way !!

I never fully bought into the concept of a sports sedan anyway. When the need is there for a sedan to carry the family, I think a more balanced car for more comfort & luxury for everyone is the way to go. For more hardcore sports performance, a coupe is still the best choice .

If you want one, you better have a thick wallet.......a new M6 is not chump change.
You no doubt saw the $90,000 starting price in the article....in U.S dollars.

Its just all talk for the near future Just strictly comparing my preference between M5 & M6.
M6 price will even be higher in Canada I think, as all cars are given the weak US$ right now compared to a couple years ago.
Besides, for $90K, I probably have something else in mind

I agree, between the M5 and M6 (Both great cars) I'd go for the M6 simple because it is a coupe, and also because it just looks better. The article didn't really seem like a real evaluation, but more like an editorial. Really, why would it be more fun to race a Porsche in a sedan than a coupe? Anyway, the M6 and 6 series in general is a car I wouldn't mind having. Too bad it I can't afford a new one right now. By the time I can afford a used one the warranty will be over and then I really can't afford one and probably can't afford to fix and maintain it

Even though I probably wouldn't have bought one, I just wish that BMW had done the M6 off of an older design rather than a newer Chris Bangle one. Chris Bangle-designed BMW's have never impressed me. I was a big fan of the last 5-series...it was marvelous.

Ahhh, I too wish they had some sort of 6 series based of the E39. I love teh E39 style. With this new 6, a coupe version like this hasn't come out for ages, so even though it is from the Bangled years, it is so dramatic it is actually not bad at all. The only thing I really have a hard time with on the Bangled cars is the rear end, and the 6 is no different, but as a total package its had to pass up. I've seen the 645 on the road and it simply blows away the 5 series in terms of pure presence and awe.

I know the M6 is probably a much more capable car, but I'd still prolly take the dead-sexy CLS55 AMG. I think the M6 looks good... but I think the interior is way too plain for any $90,000 car wearing a "luxury" badge. Plus, it'd be nice to take the car out to the track twice a year or so, but the other 363 days may be more pleasant in the MB.

Just mentioning the E39 brings back sweet memories...I loved it too. But, as most know I adore the new designs. Nothing more sexy than the the 6 series. I saw a girl yesterday in a black 645 with big chrome wheels on it. All I could think is who's car is that she's driving. I may get flamed for this but the young lady, judging on appearences as we all do, did not look like the owner of that car. Plus, she was showing off too much. The real owner wouldn't be cheesing the way she was.
