Default Detailing products thread

Thought this would be fun, want to leave it in here vs the Detailing forum since it gets no traffic.

A place for us all to share detailing products and tools that we have come across and like

I picked a few up today that I like.

This does a good job releasing pet hair from the carpets, lets the pile perk up and gives them a nice fresh smell which makes the cabin smell nice without being overpowering. Just s[ray the carpet down, wait a minute or so and vacuum.

Bought these today too and thought they both worked quite well. Can buy these at AutoZone

My favorite leather conditioner, this works great and leaves a nice factory finish:

Great dressing for nonleather surfaces, also leaves a nice matte finish:

I’ve used this for 20+ years on my motorcycles. This one is 20 years old and has over 90,000 miles on it. Plexus is good stuff.

Over many years, I have been very, VERY pleased with this product....and I give a bottle of it away as a car-warming gift to people who get a new (or newer) vehicle. It does an excellent job of getting out minor scratches, swirl-marks, scuff-marks, stains, discolorations, and all kinds of minor imperfections in the top layer of the clearcoat. It is not a wax per se, but leaves a very smooth, slick, polished surface that will bead water for quite some time after use, just like a wax. And, best of all, it is not expensive...usually runs from $4 - 9 a bottle, depending on retailer. I'm completely sold on it.

It's not a Magic-Wand for everything, though..........For problems deeper into the paint, of course, you will need a heavier-duty product or a body shop.

I like McQuires products too.

I will try that leather cleaner but do they also make a good leather conditioner too or do you not use any?

That is the conditioner. I use a variety of cleaners, haven’t found one I love yet. This works well

And I use these Autofiber scrub ninja pads. These are great.

I still have my bottle you sent me years ago, very nice of you. It’s a good hand polish for spot areas. Not quite as aggressive as Meguiars Scratch X

Steve, you schooled me to a pressure washer setup years ago, I've used it maybe 2-3 times and concluded that I don't have enough undocumented immigrant genes in me to keep using it. I've since brought it to my shop and it just sits there, and instead I bought one of those foam blasters on amazon. Not as good as full pressure washer setup, but does the job just fine, especially for motorcycles.

If you're talking about the forum favorite Ryobi, it has an excellent foam cannon attachment that works very well. I use mine all the time.

Couple of other product recommendations. One is a water deionizer and demineralizer, your value in it dependent to some degree on your water supply. I have the CR Spotless DIC-20, and it enables truly spot free rinsing. The resin lasts for a long time if you are careful. You just final rinse with the treated water and it sheets off with zero water spots. The other is the Adam's Air Cannon dryer, which filters and heats the air before delivering extremely powerful warm particle-free drying. You don't need to air dry with deionized water but I do anyway, and it's also great for touch free removal of morning dew etc. It's a step up from the blower attachments (I have those too) because of the heat and filtration, plus the hose expands to 30ft when the dual motors are on. Recommend both.
