That seems counterintuitive. Push out the model that nobody wants then send out the model that people would want?

This will kill the S class. TLC People that buy the S class will definitely switch to the van, assuming its any good.

Not going to kill the S Class lol. As an S Class consumer I would never consider a van. This is also FWD...

Remember this is primarily aimed at non US markets, and in european city centers the EV is actually the model everybody wants.

Yea I'm not thinking about the European market. If they introduce this here as an EV, it will be a disaster. If they subsequently introduce the ICE model, people that buy the S class for TLC purposes will simply get the van instead. We know you wont be interested, but it will draw enough buyers away to tank S class sales.

It won't be a "disaster", it just won't be much of a success, which it isn't going to be anyways as there is a very limited market for this here.

I don't agree it will tank S Class sales, most S Class sales are not TLC sales...and people always want to be driven around in a executive sedan...having high end SUVs didn't stop TLC companies from buying S Classes.

I guess we will see. I hope it will be a success and entice Lexus to bring the LM over.

If there is a 800-900 mile range diesel version this would be as awesome dedicated roadtrip car if you have someone to drive for you!

Lol no it won't.

S Class ain't going anywhere. If they want something higher off the ground they'll look at the GLS most likely. Not a van.

S-Class will never go anywhere, ever.

I think the S class and 7 series are not going anywhere, at least not in the next 15-20 years.

Yeah these flagships are not gonna go anywhere, at least our lifetime. Speaking of S... I finally head to head with the Maybach around my street. I remember seeing Steve mention MB folks like chrome but dam, that was way too much chrome IMO.

I used to see way more "real" Maybachs in NYC when they were sort a separate brand from MB.
