Did you ever do the math buying a car and notice the dealer's numbers would be 2-3 dollars a month more than what you expect? I ran the math with the finance guy and his "dealer" software was off by 3 dollars. I told him to run the math outside his software and my numbers were right. He had no explanation. I believe dealers tweek their software to make a few dollars extra a month on every financed deal. $3 time 72 month is an extra $216 for them. They know the average person is excited about getting their new cars and don't fight the
Only $3 dollar". I did and they lowered my payment by $3 a month.

Is it rounding errors in the software or a hidden line item?
Convenient it's in the dealer's favor.

The fiance guy just stated the "software is always right"....lol And I said well, its obviously wrong. I think they knew I caught them and the GM said, just take the $3 dollars off the payment.
when I ordered my LC I said NO ADD ONS...so I go to pick up car 4 mos. later and sit down w salesman and they added items by "mistake" and I flatly refused and was ready to walk./..in actuallity I got the ceramic coating at no charge and all the other addons somehow disappeared.
Our MDX had dealer installed window etching and nitrogen for like $600+. I refused to pay for those and the salesperson took it off the invoice. Of course, the reprinted invoice still had it and I had them do it again. Then, the salesperson blames the finance guy for not taking it off the invoice..

Since we’re off topic, Speaking of glass….windshield replacements…what’s the benefit of OEM vs aftermarket besides OEM having manufacturer stamp on the windshield?

Numerous.
Less distortion, better resistance to chromatic aberration, better lamination that resists peeling/staining, better edge dot pattern and tinting, better acoustic performance, always correct rain sensor and camera performance, better fit and sealing, and often it's the only way to get UV reflective and rain repellent tech.
It's to the point that on a high end car non-OE glass is a straight deal breaker for me.
Oh and to make a joke about "nitrogen filled tires" I only fill with pure argon lol!
why would U etch ur glass...R thieves stealing car windows.
?
Glass etching for cars primarily refers to VIN etching, permanently engraving the Vehicle Identification Number on windows to deter theft by making parts harder to sell, though it's often an expensive add-on from dealerships with mixed insurance benefits, and can be done yourself with kits for a much lower cost. The process uses stencils and etching cream or lasers to create a frosted look on all windows, making them traceable and less valuable to thieves.
What it is & Why it's done:
Theft Deterrent: Makes it difficult for thieves to resell stolen windows or parts, as the VIN links them to the original vehicle.
Recovery Aid: Helps police identify and return stolen vehicles.
