2025 December to Remember Lexus
I disagree. When Stevie Nicks and her band Fleetwood Mac were at their prime (and most popular) almost 50 years ago in the mid-late 1970s, Lexus did not exist, there was no such thing as Japanese luxury vehicles in the U.S., and the company was still some 12-15 years off into the future.
ps. Fleetwood Mac wasn't 'her band'. Nicks joined the band several years after it was formed, and only because Buckingham insisted Nicks be included when he was asked to join. When Nicks wrote Landslide (song in the ad) she wasn't part of Fleetwood Mac. Nicks said she was busy waiting tables while Buckingham was touring with Don Everly. The lyrics reflect her time in the 'snow covered hills' of Aspen.

Stevie Nick's fanbase is older...and the choice of her music in a Lexus ad speaks to Lexus' fanbase and Stevie Nick's fanbase overlapping. Ergo, Lexus fanbase is older.
Adding to my weirdness for my age, I am ALSO a big Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac fan lol

You miss the point entirely lol

Not to get too far off topic, but Stevie Nicks, IMHO, got too much of the band's publicity and attention. Christine McVie and Lindsay Buckingham, IMO, were just as good, if not better, in the vocals-department.
I understand what you and ChattannoogaPhil are saying, and the fact that a number of Lexus buyers are older, but I don't see how that changes the fact that the band FAR predates even the existence of Lexus itself. When Baby-Boomers were listening to Fleetwood Mac back in the 70s, they were actually driving either Bordello-interior luxo-coupes with opera rear windows, Smokey & the Bandit Pontiac Trans-Ams, decked-out American custom-vans, or, in some cases, Corollas/Civics/Accords that were starting to rise in popularity in the U.S. Lexus?...........What's that LOL

Lots of products that exist today didn't exist in the 70s but use that era music in modern ads for a variety of reasons. Sometimes for nostalgia to reach an age demographic (as we've been discussing) or lyrics that helps sell an underlying product theme, or simply a catchy tune.
Example: Ozempic is a modern product to help people lose weight, 'like magic'. The song Magic by Pilot from back in the 70s is used in Ozempic advertising.
Here:
Now you can sing along with the next Ozempic ad you see.

again, it's about selling nostalgia NOW, not what people were driving when fleetwood mac were at their peak.
Everyone has their own opinion regarding music and singers but when opinion is measured in album sales it reveals how those opinions are acted upon. Heck, Bella Donna alone probably sold more than McVie and Buckingham's entire solo career album sales combined x10.
Album sales today are measured so much differently... ya even get scored 1 album sale for each x number of streams.

stevie nicks is a showperson with a deep booming voice… dances with the floating lace draped outfits in black or white typically. more black now that she’s older and not in good shape. i never thought christine mcvie or lindsay buckingham could sing very well and don’t remember their ‘front person’ performances, although i’m familiar with the songs they did lead on, plus both were very strong song writers.
stevie nicks though, with landslide, sara, and so many others is just a force of nature, lol.
