EPA Chief: Auto Start/Stop Technology Is Done
you never exceed the speed limit knowing full well it’s Against the Law?!
🤡
Again - there are Plenty of situations that i drive locally where seatbelt use is NOT necessary. Obviously if Im driving on a main road or highway it’s different story.

You didn't answer the question asked earlier, do you tell your kids seatbelts aren't necessary for your trip to school?
Yes but I DONT want to wear a seatbelt in my OWN car!
Why should I suffer from idiotic chime?
Also the new cars don’t allow you to drive if door is open which is another idiotic rule. There plenty of times im moving my car slightly in my driveway or backing into the garage where it’s helpful to have door open so i can see my kids or stuff in the way.
These are all unnecessary restrictions to protect NOT the consumer but the Automaker from liability. Since consumers don’t have a lobby group vying for OUR interests, we get screwed.

That's coded out as well in my ZF cars. As you said it's annoying as hell not being able to look around or just keep the door open when moving a car
There is zero need for them to wear a seatbelt at that speed, they are accustomed to wearing it because my wife has opposite of my view 😀
I certainly understand. Actor Anton Yelchkin's death from a Jeep Grand Cherokee, where he thought he had it in Park but didn't, opened some eyes and got the ball rolling on that safety-issue about confusing shifters and getting vehicles firmly in Park before getting out.
And, years before Yelchkin's death, Ford faced multiple huge recalls and redesigns (you might remember some of them)? where, on their column-mounted PRNDL shifters, the shift-linkage connections to the lever would get sloppy and misaligned, causing the lever-marker to indicate the P position when, in fact, it was still in gear. That one, like the slightly later big campaign with GM's faulty ignition switches, got a LOT of publicity.

I'm not going to endlessly go back and forth, but where do we draw the line? The guy with unchecked/un-cared-about diabetes who just got a Coke out of the vending machine is gonna cost us all, too. So is the obese guy that eats steak and pizza 5 times a week. But I personally don't think that way.
While I can appreciate your passion for safety, I sense a little tension in these last posts and I don't get why. I can name several legit reasons to not wear a seatbelt.
-I myself am a candidate. It hurts to reach around and grab it after having 4 spine surgeries.
-Claustrophobia is real, doctors write notes to patients to give to police. I have a friend who has one lol
-Massively obese people can't even use them sometimes
-People with even worse back conditions
-People just don't want to. That's their choice. And it's a dumb one, I agree.
IDK why they don't deserve to drive according to you, but ok.

4th gen Accord with automatic seatbelts.
Got one even worse. I see kids all the time, standing up, head out of the sunroof while mom/dad drives them home in the neighborhood 🫣
One of my friends who has kids, they too as a family do not wear seatbelts even the kids. 🤯🤯
Yes.....until your neck gets caught in them.
I had a Mazda Protege of that vintage with the fixed lap-belt and the automatic shoulder-belts. Decent idea in theory, but sometimes a PITA in day-to-day use. Some manufacturers used them, instead of air bags, for several years in the late 80s and early 90s as a lower-cost alternative to the passive-restraint-regulations, because the dual front air-bags themselves did not become a Federal Requirement in the U.S. until 1995.
