The reasons to justify or not justify the higher gas prices is relative to polical beliefs for many people
As obvious in this thread. Lol
While I don't agree with your assumption(way off) you made me laugh so I had to smash the like button for ya.
Spoiler
I have to do my best to censor my politics on here because I feel it would be disrespectful to mods to knowingly drop political posts on here to bait others.
Whichever side of the aisle you support, it shouldnt stop anyone from thinking or using their brain. It affects people, some will feel it a lot more than others. Poor politics is the reason we got here, not which side you choose to affiliate with.
I think the mods should keep in mind that if everyone gets banned for whatever reasons, people will just move on and do something else with their time. If the mods makes it difficult to engage with other, people will just stop engaging. This forum will be shut down and everyone moves on.
.....There are some things that time doesn't change. You still have the choice of whether or not you help lessen demand by conservation.
Should we split an egg to help lessen demand too? What else should people give up to help lessen demand? High gas prices will certainly increase the costs of basically everything.

You know I was thinking about finally buying that horse I always wanted as a kid, but then I saw the price of hay, which was up due to fertilizer becoming scarce....

I understand what you are saying.
However, on the other hand, I have to search my heart for the reason I am here.
I'm here to make friends and talk about all manner of cars.
While politics and debate are fun and engaging, it's not why I'm here.
The real question is why is everyone here?
If it's for the cars and community and making friends,
>> THIS is the right reason to be here.
And that's why I'm ok with not going towards politics and debate, unless the mods allow.
Spoiler
Going back in my bunker now. Haha

How about walking? But sneakers are made from rubber which is a petroleum product, which is scarce. Maybe walk barefeet?
I agree we are here to make friends, but also to have open and honest discussions, politics or otherwise.
While thats true, the forum has operating costs. Ads and sponsorship $$$ which is generated from open to the public forums which have to contain specific clean/washed discussion.
or else....

Unfortunately, some things are beyond our control....and arguing them is not going to make any difference. One cannot just wave a magic wand. But we DO have at least some options on how we cope with it....and I've listed some of them. We are not totally helpless.
In the mid-70s to mid-80s, 55 MPH was not just a billboard image or Iranian Mullahs......it was the LAW here in the U.S., although it was, admittedly, widely-ignored, and not very well-enforced.

With a gas thread there will be some need to inject some sort of politics as prices rise or lower. Reasonable responses are just that. Unfortunately humans can’t be reasonable many times.
I also agree with the comment it’s good for engagement and that is why we are here. To discuss things. If we constantly delete or close or ban it will stifle things. I also will say take a chill pill and if a general comment it made don’t take it personally and respond in kind.
We have been more open here the last few months and I’m confident members here who are adults can post without causing issues all the time when there is something related to politics. Things for the most part are great and picking up.
