It won’t run out of charge as long as you have a yard guy 🤣🙃
Had an ego with 2.5 battery. Returned it after one day. Battery couldn’t last. Didn’t want to bother getting a larger battery. It was on sale I believe for $100 give or take. Extra larger battery then it’s not a $100 weed wacker anymore.
Had the Ego self propel select cut mower. Great mower. Battery only last if I did not use self propel and I had to mow every 5 days and grass had to be completely dry (no morning dew). Had the mower for exactly 89 days because I loved it but grew tired of the compromises to make it through entire cut on one battery.
I mowed my own yard for 2 years. Never used more than half a charge, self propelling used the whole time. Mowed once a week or even once every 10 days no issues. Damp grass, no issues. I use the blower and the weed eater all the time still, I blow the deck off and the patio and the driveway all the time, no problems. Would never go back to gas. If one battery doesn’t do it, just buy another one and swap them out halfway through. I have 2, a 2.5 I use for the blower and the eater and edger and a 5 for the mower.
Best part about electric, my mower hasn’t been run in over a year, I guarantee I pop the battery in and it will start right up. Gas mower would gave bad gas and have to be drained and maybe the plug replaced to get it started. No gas smell, folds up and stores behind the van…

ryobi gun grip with chemical guys foamer and bottle. on my gas pressure washer i have the wand on it too with the foamer, but i tried it out quickly on this and it feels a bit end heavy.
gun/grip with wand and a tip
Looking good! Yeah you want to use the foam cannon without the wand. You’ll find the short gun without the wand is overall better for your size car. I would only use the wand to wash the top of a van, I won’t be hand washing that anyways
I know this is a car thread, and not a mower thread, but...
I too switched to an EGO mower and weed wacker a few years ago. My plot is about 16,000 square feet, with lots to trim around (play structure, trampoline, apple trees, garden, decking, etc.). My weed wacker last about 4-5 sessions before needing to be recharged. I like that.
Now, the mower...it depends. In the April time frame, when the grass is thick and often wet, I can't quite get a full mow out of one charge. I do half then take a break while the battery recharges. After that, though, it's no problem. Right now (May), when it's a bit dryer but the grass is still thick, I end with about 20% charge left. By August, I'll have over 40% left when I finish.
So yes, I do have a bit of an inconvenience with the electric mower (no inconvenience with the electric weed wacker), it's so worth it to not finish smelling like exhaust fumes.
As for the leaf blower, I have both a gas blower (Husqvarna back-pack type) and an electric (Dewault), I use the battery operated one more out of convenience. In the fall, when I have lots of wet leaves and needles, I'll use the gas one as it's considerably more powerful, but otherwise I use the battery one for cleaning off the deck, the driveway, walkway, or roof. That never runs out of battery for me.
To me any inconvenience about battery life is negated by the benefit of not having to go get and store fuel and deal with the other realities of having gas lawn equipment.
Heres the Ego mower behind the van, can’t do that with gas.
^^ Can't (and won't) argue that! Unfortunately I do still have to store gas for my gas blower, woodchipper, and pressure washer, but it's much easier now that I don't have to worry about it for my mowing.
On a vehicular note, I have to go visit a potential supplier for work on Friday, with coworkers. The supplier asked us to carpool as they are short on parking, so I offered to drive. In my weird life, I'm literally struggling to figure out if I should drive the Highlander (unlikely), the GS (fun, enough room but no super roomy), or the Tundra (no one will be short on room, but if their parking lot is tight, it'll be a challenge to park). Talk about your first world struggles...
I have a large enough garage space doesn't matter too much....and my mower is over 12 years old with no issues and I never have to wait on it or think if the grass it wet etc. Just start it and go, never maintained it past sharpening the blades last year because people on here told me to lol! I may rebuild the engine or change the oil at some point to see if I can get more power out of it for no reason.

Picked up a 54 inch bad boy zero turn so far I’m impressed with it.
Also have a 54 inch Kubota zero turn at our other property. Both get the job done!! Use a 4 stroke makita blower and I forgot the other name of other blower. Don't use it much. Wouldn’t mind having a battery blower.
Have a 4 stroke Honda weed wacker and a 2 stroke stihl. Honda is heavier little more quiet. Stihl lighter and packs a good punch.

And the other tools and batteries
Can’t argue there and I did love its space saving capability. I even threw the ego mower in the trunk of the Prius and mowed a relative’s yard a couple times.

Tundra for passenger comfort. Parking, this is where if I need to be “that guy” and occupy more than one parking space or if I have to hop a curb or park in grass, the truck fits the bill.

Also how for some it takes longer to do yard work with battery equipment than it would with gas equipment. Like JDR mentioned he takes a break while his battery recharges and when I had my ego mower my wife noticed how much longer it would take me.
With the 54 inch zero turn bad boy I zoom💨 over the yard!!😆

Hassle free is driving to Rochester NY from Knoxville and stopping once for 5 minutes for gas. I can't even imagine trying to take a trip in an EV. I'm slamming gas pumps like WTF if they don't start filling within like 7 seconds as it is lol.
We had a cheap electric weedwacker before we hired a lawn guy, it worked okay but nothing even close to gas. But then, it wasn't a stinky mess either. There's a trade off.
