Dude, I hate to be the one to break it to you but they are NEVER fully off the books
LoL nope . When I told her I was removing her from my auto insurance as well as health insurance, she looked at me with those doe wide eyes and said: "Papa, can you wait a bit?"
I was called 'pathetic' because I drive a Tesla. I don't take it personally. Call me what you want, if that's how people want to judge me because I drive a car that seems to trigger them, than I wear it with a badge of honor . But seriously, why do I love my Model 3? Let me tell you the ways:
A well engineered vehicle
Best software of any vehicle that exists
Efficient, yet powerful (394 HP)
0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds, 0 to 80 in 7.9 seconds
Smooth as glass drive train
Needs minimal maint
Easy to trip due to the best charging infrastructure money can build
Ability to fuel daily at home (using the energy from the sun)
I get that Tesla's don't appeal to everyone, and I don't want to push my choices of vehicle on anyone. And I never will. But this car appeals to me in every way, giving me the efficiency I want in a daily driver, and the performance I WANT when I need to be a red light bully. Yes, I'm talking to you @BayeauxLex. Everything I write here in my thread is just sharing my experiences, and I share them if they are good or bad. Not interested? I won't hold it against you, just don't hate me is all I ask

So lame. I was going to Penn State and stopped to charge just sitting on the curb killing time on my phone and some dude in a pickup truck yells as slowly drives by “boy how convenient!” What an a-hole.
Second instance I was also in PA and a truck with a few younger guys motioned something as they rolled down the window and passed me but I didn’t see what they did. The when I saw them pass me at light later down the road they rolled down the window and gave me thumbs down.
I have never seen such dumb **** said or motioned about a car, so lame. It’s like it triggers people and they just assume. Plus I think my car looks badass.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm lucky to live in a state where Tesla's are the best selling car, so I haven't had any incidents personally, but they do happen. The only reason they trigger people is an inferiority complex. And your car is badass, never forget that 👍

I’ve thought about it a time or two recently. Especially with FSD. Roll out the Apple CarPlay integration
Then I think about how nice rowing gears VTEC screaming a 8th gen civic SI would be.
I’m so all over the place.🫣🥴

Idk what it is. Just like I saw guys in a QX80 pull next to a Tesla truck and flip the bird at them because what they drove

Did I miss something? Who called you pathetic?
I don't get much hate here in SC. A couple of coal rolls by bro-dozers, but not much else. In fact, I get people checking it out all the time on sentry mode.

once you drive a car with fsd and related 'ease of use' features, everything else will seem like a dinosaur.

rowing gears VTEC etc. is a blast. ... now and then. definitely not in traffic.
i had a 6 speed acura legend a loooong time ago. had it in PA on fab country roads. then i moved to atlanta. i couldn't take driving a stick in that traffic hell hole for long. traded in for auto gs400.
i did have a stick again, an '07 miata, here in FL. awesome fun car, rather noisy on highway driving though. forced to sell it when i got divorced, which i wasn't happy about. long time later got the lc500 for the fun car. definitely way more fancy, faster, roomier, etc. incredible car. but time moves on and i was over the 'low' car with heavy coupe doors and wasn't driving it much. hadn't intended to get the tesla, but the tax credit was ending and i realized it could then be my 'personal' car (vs. work car). got the y... it's been a hoot and very comfortable and relaxing too.
here in FL there's now TONS and TONS of teslas. common as dirt.
