Tire shine doesn't last for more than a few days think it at least gives some UV protection? Modern tires have crappy rubber compounds I've had 2 sets now develop cracks way before the tread was gone, Pirelli and Michelin.

 

The shine lasts between two weeks and a month. It does give UV protection. I've never had issues with a tire cracking, although my daughters Michelin tire tread on her Bolt cracked, she must of hit something hard. My two Tesla's have Continental ProContacts and our Ioniq 5 has Michelin's. My Sienna has Yokohama's. The Model Y is now over 30k miles and the tires still have plenty of life.

I actually bought the ArmorAll tire foam on sale from Amazon, came with 5 cans and used my Amazon points

 

UV index where I live is very high in the summer this wrecks rubber. What tire shine lasts that long ArmorAll? Every one I've used vanishes in a few days.

 

It all depends on weather and road conditions. It's been raining so the shine would probably go away in a few days

 

For me full sunlight bakes the shine off quickly. Same thing with spray on paint protection products they don't last here at all 1 month tops.

 

Looks like you guys need some good old fashioned pollution to protect you from burning up in sun 🤣

 

lol yea, never thought of that bet it makes a big difference. We have prevailing west winds and our elevation is 3600 feet so no pollution getting stuck in a valley. This is one of the funniest stories ever at least to me, west winds doing their thing.

There are way, way better tire shines out there than Armor All. If you clean the tires really well beforehand it will also last longer.

I use Meguiars hyper dressing and as long as it doesn’t rain it hangs on until it gets washed and re-dressed again.

 

The ArmorAll is basically a tire cleaner, tire dressing would be applied separately

 

 

I use this. Shines like glass and from what I’ve noticed it doesn’t sling off. A lot of times I will put it on and let it set overnight.

 

Nice. Hard to beat how a shiny black clean car looks with the tires shined up. I had ruled out black in my search, but the dealership selling it had it looking perfect and it changed my mind. Very glad I did.
