Toyota's legendary V8 has a problem
I used to only buy new and sell after 3/4 years, then I went with used Lexus and finally I got smart and realized just what I was missing out on for less money.
It is true to some extent that Toyota/Lexus is probably more reliable than their German counterparts, but they are also vastly underpowered and underperform them, and the tech is like 20 years old. And Toyota has shown, at least in my eyes they have no clue when it comes to downsizing and turbocharging them. In this regard they are so far behind the Germans, and even Honda, who began turbo charging Civic and Accord starting in 2017
Im sorry you will go through life never owning interesting cars man, I was there myself till I branched out. I know it's hard to get past the fear of not having "Toyota reliability" but it's so much better once you break out of the box.

I stopped “changing” oil in our ‘08 460 couple years ago…. It’s got 208k and mostly burns (although there are some very minor leaks) oil like it’s going out of style. Have to add couple quarts every 500 or so miles, lol…. Pretty safe to say the oil is “generally” fresh 😂. The car has been relegated to my 16yo daughter, who doesn’t drive that much. Not putting any more $$ into it - anything major will total the car mechanically.
On the other hand, the 530i calls for 10k oci, but I already picked up some Denso filters (cheaper than MANN or Mahle) and couple jugs of euro spec oil from Walmart and will change the oil every 5k.

I have no center Torson diff other than the Toyota, the Audis have crown drive diffs. The 460 is RWD and more interesting than anything you have ever owned lol!

I just find nothing interesting about big large flagship sedans, but back in the 1990s I did. Today they look dull. The body on frame stuff you have is super interesting. And the W12 of course
The new Jettas are cool, I think I could live with one. But I believe some VW engines still have a T belt. So that is a no no. Reliability is questionable

Reliability is questionableIve also seen a grand total of 3 failed belts vs DEEP double digits of failed chains in the last 8 years so I'm not so sure you should bet on chain as much as you do. Maybe if you bought the car new and always maintained it well and never let the oil sheer down, but I've yet to see a Toyota that doesn't have stretch at 150k+
Oh and I need to update my sig since I have 3 W12 now lol! Since they are so boring and uninteresting I just needed to get more of them you know? Oh while we're are here what Toyotas had massaging seats in all 4 positions in 2004? Nightvison? 200 mph? Were those options on the 4Runner?

Before I got Honda, I had a LS460. Loved the car but Honda gets the adrenaline pumping.

I will be on the track this weekend in my less than interesting Honda chasing the ghosts of these interesting Audis you speak highly of.

LOL. We will see. My buddy will be there in his Viper as well. And of course I’ll be there with my friends with their 9k RPM S2Ks

Not sure what this stigma is about Audis on track but I've tracked mine ~4 times (3 track days at Willow Springs and an autocross at Lone Pine Time Trial) :P Here on the West Coast there is a decent chunk of people that track their Audis, moreso in NorCal where Audi motorsport shop 034Motorsports is based in. OFC, not as much as BMW track drivers, but more than Mercedes I'd say.
