Toyota's legendary V8 has a problem
That is a good debate. I’m not sure who is correct. Full disclosure: I have never changed my 2004. But my 09 Matrix I did change the fluid and last year I had a transmission sensor go bad in my Matrix. Cost me $500
That's dumb, different brands engineer cars different ways, for certain amounts of longevity and post-warranty maintenance.
You're going to tell me, for example, you'd listen to Audi's engineers/service intervals saying the transmission is lifetime fluid when the manufacturer ZF themselves recommends it to be changed every 60k? No.

If my “neglect” screws up my engine or transmission, I will decide to fix/repair or replace the vehicle entirely. Like I once told the finance manager, I’m not interested in your warranties or protection plans. I will either fix or replace the vehicle. If I need all those warranties, clearly I’m buying the wrong car.
Do what works for you or what you feel comfortable with. I just watched another video from same engineer video @SW17LS posted where he stated to change oil every 2k miles because oil begins to break down. I’m not doing that. I’ll be changing oil every month. If it comes to that, I’ll sell everything and buy a handful of EVs like @AMIRZA786
After towing a 8.5 x 24 enclosed trailer. 1,400 mile trip. 10k oil changes. Toyota OEM oil filters. Once or twice went 15k between oil changes. I’ve never added oil. Telling you what’s worked for me. The only reason why I sold it is because I was running out of room to park it. I kept the 08 along with the 1794 until time to renew the registration on the ‘08. My 1794 gets driven 1 mile per week unless I’m towing to the track. My buzzy 152k mile Prius on its factory brakes gets the same 10k mile treatment. Have a 2008 6.0 3/4 Silverado approaching 200k that use on the farm and pulling trailer around town gets the same 10k treatment. And it’s a CHEVY!!
Your car went in for service because it’s a Mercedes. Been there. Done that. None of my vehicles have extended warranties on them. If I were a mechanic I would tell you bring your car in more often as well.
A Scope? Blackstone lab? ☝️

I know how much my LSs and RXs cost to own vs the Audis. I'm never going back to cars that cost 2x more to buy for same years/miles and have 3x more cost to repair and break more often while being harder to work on.
Though I don't have pictures, my RX looked like this on numerous occasions. Only one of my 4 Germans over the past quarter-century has ever "taken the ride", stalled out at a light due to bad fuel.
I love the "I know someone, a family member, a friend etc" line 😂 Just cracks me up. But silence when LX, LS and Tacoma and GR Corolla owners engines blow up...
He has all diesels. The 328 wouldn’t pass an emissions testings as the CEL is on (even though emissions are no longer required) but it’s doubtful anyone is gonna buy it anyways with failing struts, and bushings and the CEL. I think his plan is to repair it at some point

They just wanted a piggyback ride. 🐷
To be fair, the maintenance schedule on cars with the 2UR has a 5k-mile interval... not 10k.
Yep......it's strange that people on here who actually own them don't complain. Meanwhile my LS430 was trying o set a record for thing it needed and the RXs kept having stupid issues that bothered me and parts cost more than my A8s
