See? I think it's a regional thing. People in the southeast love their big and wasteful SUVs.

They're all over the place here, I can't emphasize enough. I took my mother to the doctor this morning and took the main road instead of the interstate bc we were early and I saw 5 LX570s and one Land Cruiser.

There are so many black 2016+ ones around I'm starting to get the itch, I realllllly would like a late model black 570.

Glad the trip was fun!!!!!

Absolutely is, that's why stuff like the Grand Waggoner are common as hell is some areas vs "better" cars like Range Rovers etc because you must have the largest possible option and it must be US nameplate.

Both Grand Wagoneers and Range Rovers are extremely popular here, too, just FWIW.

SUV craze around here, it's always been this way.

I do think the Yukon Denali is the ubiquitous West Knoxville car. They are just everywhere, all the time. GMC is nice but not the nicest out there, a nice in-between. Lots of people would choose the GMC including my cousin who is a GM engineer. I wouldn't spend 30k more for an Escalade even though it's probably worth the money.

I see a lot of Grand Wagoneers around here too.

I think it may have to do with people buying large SUVs for personal use vs family use, SWB Range Rovers, LX/LCs, are smaller and more managable as a personal vehicle while Escalades, Grand Wagoneers, Tahoes etc are larger. I didn't see any Escalades down there, did see a lot of Yukons and Tahoes.

You ever see a GW white with the wood paneling? Those are around too. My aunt had an ollld one like that, if only she were alive to see the new ones. They were over the moon about their old one, lovvvvved it. Went to lots of Vols games in it.

I'm surprised you didn't see one Escalade.

So I do hate driving locally because most drivers are very bad, but I am grateful that I rarely have to go to the LA office for work. I do endure the 13 miles between home and the German and it takes me through the Orange Crush, which slightly worse than the mixing bowl in the Beltway (though it’s been decades and maybe the bowl is worse now). So people don’t plan ahead and they are never one lane away from where they need to be. The minimum is 2 lanes away. There are always tells so when the person three lanes left of where they should be, I am not surprised that they are coming over.

We’ve discussed left lane bandit tendencies and I definitely do not camp in the left lane. Friday night on the way home, I was in the #2 lane meaning the passing lane and the HOV lane are to my left and in theory, the passing lane would be available for…passing. It wasn’t though. There were left lane bandit. It was all SUVers. It’s probably coincidence and probably half the passenger vehicles in SoCal are SUV or high compact cars with big tires. I didn’t care for the fact that the passing drivers were mad at me for going 77 mph in the #2 lane and not at the lemmings going slower than that in the passing lane.

Having driven both, I disagree. Though if you're looking for a daily, the C7 Z06 is way more up to the task than the C8 Z06. But if your goal is to let loose, even the base C8 Stingray will let you get the demons out far more readily than the C7 Z06 will. I can get the C7 sideways at 130 just by squeezing the throttle a bit too aggressively, which is frankly terrifying.

Well yes but that's more fun, the C7 is like a Viper lite edition. If I'm going with a RWD car I want it to be stupid like that lol!

The C8 is great, but if you have driven a Ferrari F430 Scud or 455 it's meh. I would rather have a stupid fast car if going mid engine and if AWD even better
