Yep, I've heard that too over the years.

I wonder if the fact that it didn't have power steering had anything to do with it? At least the front axle? The automatics had P/S but the manuals did not.

I can't even imagine the drive in a mint one of those.

My brother's is lowered slightly. It ate tires before that. We bought the car from a guy my brother used to work with and when my brother was leaving the company, he asked the guy to give a heads up if he ever wanted to sell the car. A lot of rear drive performance oriented cars eat rear tires. You have to pay to play in a sense, but the suspension geometry on these types of cars is more geared toward overall enjoyment of the car vs. concern about tire wear. Even my Civic eats rear tires on RS-R down springs which is not slammed, but you can see the negative camber. I had a camber kit in the 2016 IS350 F Sport and it wasn't really worth it.

A good friend of mine has a stroked and twin turbo 2005 NSX he bought new. It is ridiculous and so light compared to todays cars. Only 12k miles on it too.

Tire consumption comes with performance suspension settings, I will be happy if I get half the tire life I am supposed to out of the A8s and S4.

The LS460 on the other hand is right on track to beat warranty by 5k miles and the LS430 always beat it

They have race ramps that are used to drive up on the pedestal.

In other news, Pro Tuning Freaks started their black friday sale today, so I ordered my tune for the BMW. @BayeauxLex might be interested in that sale. 15% off.

My ECU is locked so I would have to send it off to femto overseas to have it unlocked first. 2nd option to run a JB4 piggyback. It’s tempting but I’m trying to refrain myself. I just need to make it thru Black Friday. 🫣

Are you doing the stage 1 91 tune?

Black Friday is when I went full send on my Honda.

Well my 3GS is all factory spec. And my Continental ExtremeContacts are almost down to the wear bars at 26,000 miles. They are warranted for 50,000 miles.

@FrankReynoldsCPA Are you affected by the F1 race at all? Do you or anyone you know attend or is it another day for Vegas residents? Supposed to be the coldest F1 race ever due to low temps over there.
I always think about wanting to go but seems like too much of a hassle and $$$.

The F1 Vegas race doesn't make much sense to me. They put the race on when it gets chilly/cold out there and it's on at 1am Eastern.

Schedule the race when it's warm and a time when people on the East Coast can actually watch it.

Lol I have several friends in Vegas right now for the race.

I get you're a local but isn't it cool to have all that right there? Some of the world's best dining and shopping and hotels and spas (I went to the Encore spa it was like Aladdin's treasure room), and just all the madness would be fun to have a stretch down the street for whenever.

I used to watch a lot of F1 in the early 00's when Schumacher was dominating then transitioned to Alonso, Raikkonen etc. I had no issue with getting up at crazy times for a race in Australia or Malaysia. The race should be on at 7 Vegas time and 10 ET.

They should switch Vegas and Miami on the F1 calendar. It's still kinda warm and humid in South Florida this time of year.

I was invited to Austin twice as a guest of one of the teams for the first and second F1 races held at the circuit. I got to spend the weekends mostly in the paddock area, and was able to watch the race from their garage. Unbelievable experience. Got pics of Sir Jacky Stewart and others signing my paddock pass. The celeb spotting in the paddock and pitlane is off the charts. We were guests of what became the Aston Martin F1 team. Buddy of mine on the other hand has gotten invited to an F1 race as the guest of Ferrari. I could never hit those lofty heights.

I'm not really affected because I'm never down on the Strip.

It's an absolute nightmare for anybody who lives or works near the strip. Complete disruption to their daily routine for weeks. Then they don't even get to watch the race because the organizers block off the views so that nobody sees the race for free.

I actually don't ever go do any of that. I'm not big on going out like that.
