General Car Conversation 2024 - part 2
Toyota normally takes the whole book time
Hyundai/kia is great
I did like that E-Class and the exterior styling. I liked the refreshed front end, but didn't feel that it really went with the rest of the car - like they just took the front end of another car and tacked it on. So I'd probably prefer the original design, like the one Steve looked at.
However...I thought it had an enormously disappointing interior.

Makes me sad since they were very nice the first time I saw them/PPIed them and one is a diesel.
The BMW mechanic I use charges $185/hr.
I ended up paying $1,700 yesterday for a coolant flush, transmission fluid and filter change, and diff oil change.
Most of that was the transmission, needing $500 in parts and fluid and another $500 in labor.
At least i don't need to do this again for 60k miles. Just oil, brakes and tires between now and then for the most part.
Now she's ready for a tune.

I am a curmudgeon. I don’t go for 4 cylinder “luxury” cars.

there you go assuming again. nope, just the one cornholio behind.

we have an mb with mbux in it at home so i'm quite accustomed to it. i just don't think it's user-friendly. it is flexible though, with the ability to change guages in a million ways and the wheel touch pads are kinda cool.

Doesn’t surprise me at all. In Europe that car makes sense, in the US it’s just a badge buy.
Im not interested in a 4 cyl luxury car either. Luckily most of those come with a 6cyl option at least.
Most people don’t care though. One of my agents is getting an E Class at my suggestion, she never even considered anything but the E350
