We often talk about about naturally aspirated engines and turbos and we see camps on both side of the fence.
well one of my friends son just recently bought the new Mustang with the 5.0L engine. Manual and I think it is a mid level model. After two months, my friend’s son now has serious buyer’s remorse and misses turbocharging. Not enough low end torque as to much revving is required. My friend came from a VW Golf R (non manual).
Will be interesting to see what he does with it in the short term.
(win one for the turbo evangelists)
Looks like it will be impossible to avoid an turbo engine going forward. Saw the new Land Cruiser 250 yesterday and apparently that is turbo too.

It’s just a different feeling that he isn’t used to. I used to think the same thing having turbocharged engines for my first three cars and then going to N/A. The N/A felt slower than what I was used to but it wasn’t in my case. Nothing wrong with either but it definitely feels different to me but I’ve always loved turbo engines so I understand where he is coming from.

Tell him to boost it. Coworker has a boosted 10 spd 5.0 and he’s making around 800-850 to the wheel. Boosted 5.0s are quick!!

If he wants to go turbo route. Brake boost = bye bye in 10 seconds
Yeah an NA Coyote is a rev-happy engine for sure. They're hella fast but the torque doesn't come on as fast as an NA engine or a larger displacement pushrod engine.

They sound great and respond super well though, yeah you need to rev a bit but they keep going up top with ease. Plus it's easy to be tame with them, just stay under 3k
