has highland actually started shipping in u.s.?
is it made in fremont or austin?
Model 3 for the US is only made at the Fremont plant. No deliveries as yet; probably soon. Early February maybe. I want the Performance! Get crackin' Elon!

IIRC the drive unit issue was driven by resonance frequency and too much tolerance when mounting the units. I know they were very aggressive about replacing drive units for customers early on to keep people happy. I thought it was behind them at this point, but I don't really know for sure.
The control arm issue is definitely true. Mine were replaced, thankfully under warranty, but it's a late enough developing problem that I'm sure there are people paying out of pocket.
The gaps and paint on mine had no issues, for whatever that's worth. I looked it over pretty thoroughly when I first got it side by side with my Mercedes and came to the conclusion that they were basically the same quality in that regard.
Tesla invited me to see and drive the Highland at Santana Row. I was expecting the refreshed car to be our car (Dec 2018 Mid Range) with different front and back, and upgrades. Well, I was wrong. 80% new parts; all new suspension.
The seats alone will sell this car. I like the seats in our car, but these are on a different level. The car is solid; fit and finish is stellar. I did not drive it, but I am a buyer. Wanna see the Performance; then I will make up my mind.
Interior uses upgraded materials; steering wheel is a little fatter. Feels more upscale, but still Tesla minimalist. This thing will sell. Problem is, I have too many cars... Sheesh.
Awesome, thanks for sharing. If I could ask, there are none for test drives? I plan to test drive one soon...our new building is near the Tesla Fremont plant, I'll setup a test drive once we are settled into our new building.
Another thing, I would go for the LR. Plenty of power, probably all you will ever need

They are all for test drives. None in the show room; all in the parking garage. He handed me the key card several times.
The LR gets 300+ real world freeway range.

You will love this car.
No, you got that wrong. I already love this car
The front seats look exactly like the ones in the Model Y, which are very comfortable. I've done nearly 11k miles in them, and am ready to do another 11k!
Saw my first highland in Florida yesterday. It looks good in person....didn't get to see the rear but the front is a 100% improvement. IMO the previous gen was not an attractive car. But this one looks nice. In pictures they headlights look small but it works. The front bumper cover made a huge difference in how the car looks.
