Impressive amount of NVIDIA gear in there. But I do feel sorry for people of Memphis, it's definitely one of the least green data centers on the planet:
"To meet the current electricity demands at the site, xAI has installed nearly 20 gas turbines, including four large turbines with a combined capacity of approximately 100 MW. These turbines are capable of emitting nitrogen oxides (NOx), a key contributor to ozone formation, at rates that could make them one of the largest sources of NOx emissions in Shelby County. Despite this potential impact, xAI has not applied for air permits for the turbines, according to the coalition’s letter"
"In addition to air quality concerns, xAI's facility is drawing up to 1 million gallons of water per day from an existing water main"

So, we are all living in the costal states. I was in Louisiana New Orleans last weekend. Didn't see a single Tesla during my visit, just a few trump flags lol. Gas was also less than 3 dollars
Louisiana also bans direct Tesla sales. I know someone in Arizona, and he told me they are all over the place. Same with NM, Nevada. I don't know if you consider Texas and Florida "coastal states", they are number 2 and 3 when it comes to Tesla registrations. I even have a friend in SC who told me they are popping up all over the place.
The F-150 is still the number one bought vehicle in the US, Tesla has awhile to go to get close to those sales numbers

I agree that burning any fossil fuel is bad the United States burns 20 million barrels of oil per day 67% of that is transpiration. Because this is Tesla they will make all data centers as energy efficient as possible and use as much renewable energy as possible. I do find it interesting that you are suddenly very concerned about burning fossil fuel, but good to see you recognize it as a massive problem.
BTW this is largely on Tennessee the state needs to up their game in renewable energy Tesla can't do everything.

Doubt this is true the water is used over and over again.
But hey, its probably worth it - to train a less woke version of ChatGPT for X.
A.I. that is truthful is critically important. And Grok is becoming practically useful it can read MRIs for example, there are going to be many real world benefits Grok doesn't exist just to entertain.
I wish Elon hadn’t touted HW3 ability to do unsupervised FSD because normally you wouldn’t expect a five year old car to be able to do just released capabilities, and FSD would drive a lot of new car sales.

I read somewhere that Elon was talking about retrofitting HW3 vehicles with HW4. Fact or fiction?
HW4 physical interfaces are way different it won't work unless a new, custom HW4 or HW5 motherboard was made that interfaces with HW3 architecture meaning vehicle wiring. This is Elon saying FSD will work on HW3 hell or high water. Will it actually? Dunno.
I'm surprised legacy auto hasn't at least taken a crack at simplifying connections/connectors there are so many it boggles the mind. Not picking on Toyota this is across the industry I simply have experience with their connection architectures https://www.toyota-tech.eu/wire_harness_rm/rm06h0e.pdf
no when they are not in use, when there is sufficient electricity from the grid.
yea when they are. NOx is by product of gas turbines.
without knowing how often the turbines are used, I don't see how this statement tells us anything about how green (or not) the site is. Is it 20 hours in a day? 10 hours? 30 minutes? This is just fear baiting language.

Doubt this is true the water is used over and over again.
The xAI data center does not have a fully closed-loop water design, it just evaporates the water and the water within the site needs to be replenished from drinking water rather than grey water, as TN does not have grey water for data center usage. It is already drawing 30k gallon of water every day, and its not even training at full blast - running at full blast is where the estimation comes from.
