Taking Lexus to Toyota dealership for service?
Anyone take their Lexus to Toyota dealership for oil service and/or regular maintenance?
- If it's cheaper, how much cheaper? Do you know?
- My understanding is that Lexus technicians hold a Toyota certification too, but servicing a Lexus is not what a Toyota technician does everyday. Does it void warranty if something happens to go wrong?
- Can anyone share their experiences in the GTA area?
Thanks a lot!

Hey,
I used to take my 04 Lexus ES330 to a Toyota dealership for service since I purchased it there. At first they charged the lower Toyota rate for maintenance, oil changes etc, however, after a while they said that there was a policy change and they had to charge the higher "Lexus price" for service since it was a Lexus and not a Toyota. As for warranty, I don't think it voids warranty but I'm not 100% sure since I never had any issues with the vehicle and never had to claim anything under warranty. Since I was servicing at the dealership where I bought the vehicle at, I assumed there would be no problem regarding the warranty being voided.

Pole Position
I bought my car from a Toyota dealership and they were able to fix it up before delivery pretty much fine, including the 7 hour job of replacing the rear sun shade. They just follow the service manual like any other job. I'm sure the lexus service manuals and lexus vehicles are written and built very similarly to Toyotas.
