Warranty work at Toyota dealer?
Has anyone had there Lexus in for maintenance at a Toyota dealership and had them find any issues, and make the repair under factory Lexus warranty?

IMO, they may perform same warranty work but the record won't get registered on Lexus data base. I don't think Toyota service dept. has access to Lexus vehicle maintenance history data base vise versa. Probabpy any one can read the history of a vehicle but not any one can enter the the data to data base.

Toyota dealers do have the ability to add to the service history. My RX450h had a full synthetic oil change done by a Toyota dealer right before I got it. (According to the sticker on the windshield) and that line item appears in my car's history. It doesn't specifically name which dealer it was though.

It depends on the Toyota dealership. While most (if not all) will do Lexus maintenance, only some are willing to do Lexus warranty work.

I had my second oil change done at a Toyota dealership and they updated the online service info for my RX. I had the 3rd oil change done at an independent garage and they also updated the online service information. You can also update the service info yourself!

Warranty work gets billed to the Corp .. in this case Lexus of USA.
Lexus has to authorize the work and we as customers dont need to be involved in that.
There are times as customer, we can call Lexus and say, the Lexus dealership is far away and or you are stranded and your option is to go to Toyota.
Another tidbit is for a while Lexus Corp told Toyota not to service Lexus vehicles. If you have been involved with Club Lexus over the years, we had many members who reported that Toyota dealers refused servicing Lexus vehicles.

I had my RX350 for 30000 mile maintenance service at a local Toyota dealer. Apart from the regular wear and tear items and other issues i would recommend going to a Lexus dealership as long as it it is under warranty. The Toyota dealership registered the service too. Paid half of what I would have paid at the dealership for the same service.

I had an extended Lexus Warranty and other than warranty work, I have performed all scheduled maintenance as stated on the manual plus some.
The investment cost of the Lexus extended warranty of $2K paid off handsomely in the end.
You have to think about it this way:
If you saved a certain amount of money, like $100 per month for future expenses on your car, $1,200 a year, $2,400 after 2 years, then you have the pool of money for repair work for your car. If you get lucky, you have a nice little chunk of change which you can opt to use some other way, as long as the expense is value add.
