Default Going to a Toyota Dealer for service

Just wondering if there are any major downsides to going to a toyota dealer to service my lexus. Nearest lexus dealer is 1.5 hours away, and i don't have to time between now and the next service interval.
64k kms/ 40k mile service.

I think the only downside is probably less convenience in the lounge area and possibly no car wash. Nothing major that I know of.

I've heard not confirmed, things are cheaper at Toyota for the same thing at Lexus. Example: oil change at Lexus cost $200, oil change at Toyota cost $140. Parts tend to be cheaper too.

just not comfy couches, free drinks and food at Toyota lol

Toyota dealers can do routine service but not all of them are willing to do warranty work, so keep that in mind.

Some of the Toyota dealers do have a great lounges, but you would not get the loaner, but if it's a short service it probably doesn't matter much.

There are a few things the Toyota dealership may not be able to handle (AHC system on a LX570 for example) but for most Lexus rides, I'd trust the Toyota service team to take care of it especially for service items.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
brings more confidence for me to bring it to the toyota dealer, lower price is always nice and i wont be sitting around waiting for the car so comfort isn't the issue either.
i just had PPF installed and have to wait a little while before washing so a courtesy wash isn't a big deal either.

I did an oil change at Toyota for my is200t. $55 for the oil change. I usually do my own oil changes, but $55 is a no brainer.
The price they charge is by the amount of oil the car consumes, so around $60 for a sedan size vehicle.
My local Lexus lounge is dirtier and smaller than the Toyota, but I never stick around to wait.

Whatever service you are going to get done, make sure they have the parts ahead of time.
There's not a lot of Toyota parts on an IS, especially the AWD...I believe not even the oil filter cartridge.

Where is your nearest Toyota dealer? Lexus dealer?

I know your Lexus dealer is too far away, but I can think of three reasons to consider them anyway.

· As said before, the Toyota dealer may not have certain parts on hand unique to a Lexus.

· A Toyota mechanic may not have the experience needed for some Lexus only problems.

· Warranty work may be refused, especially if stemming from a TSB.

Been there and done that. It wasn't pretty. I took my '04 IS to the local Toyota dealer twice and had problems both times.
Not worth going into all the details, but the 2nd F.U. was on a simple brake job.
Also, if you need a part that is not common Toyota will need to order from Lexus as they do not share a parts system.
I guess there are dealers with good service depts and ones with knuckleheads. My local Toyota dealer has knuckleheads.

Piercy Toyota. It's the same price they charge for my Camry.
There shouldn't be a big discrepancy in price since it's almost the same materials.
Same oil, same filter, up to 5 quarts, AND multi point inspections.
Most of the time, they have coupons for only $45!! The cost of buying your own oil and filter would've been more.

Your dealers seem to charge a lot for oil and filter changes...

My Toyota dealer also charges $55 for a full synthetic oil change. Charged $250, total, for my front brake pads and resurface of rotors.

They have a large showroom lounge area and coffee, clean.

They wont do any warranty work though. They will, but "I" pay for it.

Wish they did oil and brakes for my Porsche!
