Going to track next weekend 14th at NCM. Should have video. Bought a new system a while back that has 2 cameras. Trying to get all that figured out too.
Car will be new to me between new blower and new tires. Hope I can get a feel for it fast enough.
May rain that that though. Hope not...

Heading to NCM this weekend. Hope to test out the new car!
Didn't get time to install the cage, seats & harness. But car will be so different still with new super charger, wing, & new slicks 295/30 square!
But I think it’s gonna be wet all day so I’ll probably be on my rains...Yokohama AD08R

Well, finally got time to install the Studio RSR cage today. Been sitting around for 2 months+
Had to take the seats out to install it, and in the process I screwed up and set off the SRS light. Poop..
Made a mistake and reconnected the battery when I needed to move the seat using power but the dang air bag connection was disconnected. Oh well, gotta deal with the hazard light until I can get it reset.

The cage fit overall was good. The only issue is one side of hoop was a tad taller and sits up against the headliner. Pretty sure it’s gonna rub a hole through it after a while. But not much I can do about it...

Next thing will be to install my new race seats and harnesses. Soon!

Does anyone know how to remove the passenger (weight) sensor from the seat?
if so, pls advise. Thanks!!

Any reason they didn't put a harness bar on the main hoop?

Teu,
Yeah, was super bummed when I finally noticed that. It was months later. My fault for not specifying. Not like I was gonna send it back to Cali. I’ll have a local shop fix it.
Hoping to mount the seat and see what the angle is. May be able to run it to the rear cross brace.

Hey Ron,
truth be known I really haven’t tested it that much even thought I’ve had it back for a month plus...

I don’t drive fast on local roads. Had a bad incident years ago and I made a promise to myself.
Just a few 2nd 3rd gear pulls on highway ramps. At first i wasn’t that impressed. Was hoping to feel the torque more. That’s where the car always lacked imo. Don’t get me wrong, the car is definitely faster. But supposedly 650whp, it doesn’t feel like it.
But last weekend I took it out and car felt stronger. I think the charger is breaking in and my knock numbers are increasing.
Will know better once on track.
Had one track day but was total rain. Then covid came...

Yeah, that is a bummer. I'd lean towards the local shop adding the bar at the correct height, etc after you have the seat adjusted, etc. From what I've read, mounting to the rear cross brace will give a lot of belt stretch if you ever test them in a serious crash. The harness bar on the main hoop can double as a seat back brace as well.

Good luck. Nice build!

^^^ Teu

After seat mock up, realized the hoop is way too close to the back of the seat. Literally the top of seat back is like 3 inches from the bar.
If the cross bar was located in a “normal” location behind the seat, the harness belts would have a sharp downward angle which is wrong.
The extra added bar would literally have to be at the level of the seat openings in order to get the right angle.
May have to go to the rear bar, or even the top hoop bar since ok to have belts angling upwards vs down.
Will see once I finalize the seat mounts.
That’s what I get for not having a custom welded cage. Price was right but now I gotta deal with these issues.

Definitely sounds like you need to open her up and get the KCLV optimized!

Update on harness mount.
Talked to Studio RSR. They said due to rcf stock seats being bulky and tall, and where the hoop had to land in front of the rear seats, there is no way to get the belts to mount to main hoop.
Recommend mounting to the rear bar.
That’s what I’ll be doing then.
I pretty much figured that out after mocking up seat location that the main hoop was too close and wasn’t going to happen.
