Car Dusters - Damaging?
I'm sure we all experience this from time to time. Your car is actually pretty clean but it has a layer of fine dust on it that you would like to remove. Is using a car duster such as the one in the link below a dangerous way to get rid of the dust if it is used gently? I have one but will soon be taking delivery of a couple of new Lexi (that is the plural, right?) but don't want to use it if it is likely to damage the finish.

i threw mine in the garbage 3 cars ago... IMO it will damage your paint. watched a vid by the junkman and he stated that you must barely touch the paint and let the duster glide over the paint... i threw mine away anyway.

A safer option is to carefully wipe the vehicle down with plush microfiber towels and a quality quick detail spray.
The quick detail spray will provide lubrication for the towel as you carefully move it across the surface. The most important thing to remember anytime you touch your paint is to use LIGHT PRESSURE.
I would recommend the following for 'wipe downs' if your car simply has a light layer of dust:
ReTHICKulous Microfiber Towels
Optimum No Rinse (diluted to quick detail strength in a separate spray bottle)
*Note: I personally do not 'wipe down' my car no matter if it is just a light layer of dust. I prefer to do a rinseless wash instead. I simply feel like it is safer for my paint.
Let me know if you've got any other questions!

anytime you touch the paint with anything you can cause scratches or swirls. a duster used lightly (assuming quality soft duster) shouldnt do damage unless there is something caught up in the fibers. never use it on a dirty car or it will potentially cause damage the next time you use it.
