Default Alcohol?

i've read some thread about mixing alcohol with water while cleaning their car? what does this do? isn't going to damage your paint? isn't suppose to be just like a car soap to wash your car?.. i just waxed my car about 2 weeks ago... and right now my car is very dusty...does the wax that i used will come off my car? and often should i wax? is this alcohol thing can be used instead of my car soap? please put some input thnx....

I think they refer to the 50/50 alchol to water mix to get water spots off of glass and paint. I think its also used to neutralize the degrading properties of bird crap as it eats through your clear coat even after you wipe it off.

I'm sure some of the pros will chime in here...

IPA Wipedowns are commonly used after polishing to remove oils left over. It is 50/50 mixed with water. As far as washing your car with just IPA, I wouldnt recommend it.

If the car is very dusty I would recommend washing it and wiping light dust off with a MF towel and some quality QD. That way you wont risk scratching your car since its very dusty and all

A low concentrated amount of rubbing alcohol (such as the amount used in hand sanitizer) can help clean stuff off of your car (i.e. tree sap, tar, ect) w/o ruining your paint. Wax makes it all the better because it's a layer of protection.

The cleaning composition of the present invention may also contain methyl
cellosolve and ammonia, depending on the type of stain the composition is
intended to remove. It is envisioned that the cleaning composition that
has optional methyl cellosolve and ammonia can be used for cleaning of car
surface and similar objects.
