The Motor Report has just released renderings of what could be the next IS F Sedan and Coupe. As the F marque evolves, so does the competition. Will Lexus play their cards right and offer more F variants to compete with the Deutschland trio: AMG, M and RS?
If you’re in Brisbane anytime soon, make sure to stop by the Lexus dealership there. You’ll certainly be greeted by the normal show room fare, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to check out their newest arrivals: A triplet of IS-F based race cars.
Don’t hold your breath, but the word from IS-F Chief Engineer Yukihiko Yaguchi in Lexus magazine is that the CCS-R might see the light of day. That is, if interest is strong enough.
Lexus did pretty well with their suped up IS-F CCS-R on Pikes Peak last weekend, placing second in their class. Luckily for us, they managed to stick two or three hundred GoPros to the car. They’ve released this video to celebrate.
There’s a new rumor floating about the internet concerning Lexus’ next IS F. In lieu of Toyota’s recent partnership with BMW, there has been some speculation about Lexus swapping out the the their 4.6L V8 for a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine. Possibly, even using the inline six from BMW.
After delays due to poor weather conditions, the race to the top of Pikes Peak is finally on this weekend. Lexus will attacking the famous hill climb with their IS-F CCS-R. The driver is none other than drift star, Ken Gushi.
Due to the recent brushfires in Colorado, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has been postponed to Sunday, August 12, 2012. But have no fear, Lexus will be bringing IS F CCS-R #3 to play and Scion Racing’s Ken Gushi will be piloting this machine to the top!
