Default Looking for recommendations on oversize oil filter

I have a new to me 2000 RX300 with 113K miles. I decided to change the oil and went to the Toyota dealer for the filter. I had a couple of questions on oil filters that Iam sure the list members will be able to provide me some guidance on.

1) I asked the Toyota dealer for Part No. 90915-YZZD1. They did not have that in stock. Instead they gave me 90915-YZZG1. They said it is the same. One is made in Japan and the one they gave me is made in USA. Difference is only in "G1" versus "D1". Is that true ? Should I use the filter I bought ?

2) I feed all my cars with synthetic and change at 7,500 mile intervals. For that reason, I have switched all of them to oversized oil filters (Fram PH1). When I saw the size of the filter I bought, I did a double take. It is itsy-bitsy teenie-weenie ! Is there an oversized oil filter that will fit the RX300. What is the number ?

Thanks,
Hugo

1) The made in Japan is way better design. I would get my refund and buy NAPA Gold filter because it is more cost effective.
2) I am using FRAM XG 3600, same bypass valve value and diameter as OEM sized 3614, just 1/2 inch longer. If you don't want to use FRAM, try Mobil 1 M209.

The oil filter for the Toyota Tundra and Sequouia is larger and has the same gasket and thread size. It is a little longer....

For the K&N, the filter would be HP-2009 rather than the HP-1002.

As long as the threads and location of the gasket (O ring seal) is correct, it should work. If it was smaller, there might have been issues with the flow rate.

My concern has always been the tight location .. very little wiggle room, specially when I persist on working from the top. Be aware that eventually you will be removing it and you may need a bit of room to put the tool on it and work it loose.

Here is the HP-2009, it is the same 3 inch diameter, but 1.34 inches taller than the HP-1002.

Its diameter fits perfectly on the engine block.

It was a little tough to screw one given the space to put a ratchet and extension on the 1 inch nut on top is shorter than that of the HP-1002, but we managed.

BTW, obviously I did an oil change. I am now testing for one cycle, Liqui Moly 5W30 though I still recommend the German Castrol 0W30 if you can get it, but unfortunately it doesn't exist down here anymore.
