The 7ES is not a small car, but the new one looks huge, and ugly.

I still like the look of my 2015 ES300h and do not like the hockey stick look of that 2026. I will drive it and decide.

Default Not a Pretty Sight

Black glob under the headlights looks like an afterthought. The rest of the car is very generic looking.
Did the guys over at Subaru come up with this?

The new ES looks 100% like a Toyota, no distinction as a Lexus product. Toyota has been degrading the Lexus brand, at least style-wise, for some time now, and this is the worst example yet. For all of those critics who for decades have said that a Lexus is just a fancy Toyota, it’s like Toyota has said, “Well, yeah, you’re right...”.

That’s nasty. Lexus should be embarrassed.

I can't be certain the photo in the OP is real.
You may notice that the shadow of the 8ES is more vertical, while the shadow of the 7ES is more to the left?
The two shadows may not seem to match?

Hence, better to watch this youtube video below of the two generations side by side.

At the base of the video, if you click on the gear wheel for settings, you can click on subtitles to auto-translate to English.
You must click on the bottom left/right youtube button to take you directly to the youtube website to see the English subtitles too.

Just keep in mind that 7ES owners must justify their recent purchase, hence they will be naturally least likely to like the 8ES...

In a weird way, Toyota became Lexus and Lexus became Toyota.

The new Camry is more Lexus than the new Lexus is lol.The new Crown SUVs whatever they're called look more premium than all of Lexus's new SUVs.

The Crown Signia. Looks-wise it might be true but every Toyota I've driven, including the CS, has driven like a Toyota and not like a Lexus.

IMO, new Camry front okay, however rear is terrible.
While Crown's interior is very plasticky and cheap.

2012-18 Camry was boxy, but most capacious with 103 cu ft passenger compartment!
The past two Camry generations fell to only 100 cu ft.
While old 7ES was too low and fell to only 98 cu ft inside.
