I Have a 2013 & 2020 F-1 Lexus and took the 2013 in today for the Oil change ….. the car has 89 K miles on it and I was wondering about the Timing Belt & Spark plugs …. The owners manual says they should both be replaced after 100,000 miles. I was wondering if anybody else has changed this on their Lexus and how much should I expect to pay? Also the water pump would it be a good idea to get a new water pump on this vehicle at this time thank you for your comments in advance. Scott first time poster. The white one is the 2013. The atomic silver one is a 2020.

Welcome, on a 13 year car at just about 100k miles there are numerous things that can be proactively replaced to extend life of car including serpentine belt, replace coolant, do a drain and refill on transmission, replace brake fluid and possibly upgrade brake pads and rotors, upgrade to an AGM battery, replace hood and rear hatch liftgate struts, replace all light bulbs and possibly fog lights if led type, replace or upgrade windshield wipers, install new rear shocks and front and rear swaybar links and bushings. I usually replace front windshield about this mileage also even if no cracks.

I have a 2015 RX with 170K miles. I have never done the spark plugs...I just pull one once in a while to check condition. I don't plan to change them until I get misfires registered and read via scan tool.
Waterpump should only be changed when it is going out. It'll make noise and possibly start leaking, but if you get under there and keep an eye on it every oil change, you should catch it in time to replace before you lose too much coolant. In terms of coolant leaks, you can watch the overflow reservoir; in terms of noise, listen for a loud rattle meaning the bearings are wearing out. Note that the idler pulley and waterpump could sound the same, especially since they aren't far from each other.
A lot of folks replace things well before they need to, spending money where they don't need to. Just keep an eye on your car and replace fluids regularly as those do wear out at fairly regular intervals. The transmission fluid is critical since the OEM doesn't want you doing it, so that means do it more.
Curious where you saw to change the timing belt in the manual. Please post that here.

Does the F-1 model of the Lexus RX in Australia use different engines than the US models? Or was that a typo or trim level reference? Is it called the RX350 down under?
The US models us a 3.5 liter V6 known as the 2gr-fe by Toyota-Lexus.
A later version is the 2gr-fks. which has both direct and port injection and may be on your 2020 model year vehicle. Both have timing chains.

Sorry must of Dreamed it ! Just want to do a little something extra for my car. It has been awfully good to me.
These maintenance items are often neglected:
Change the transmission fluid.
If all wheel drive also change the fluids in the transfer case and rear differential.
Then flush the brake fluid which should be done every 3 years.
Change the cabin air filter.
Change the PCV valve.
Drain the radiator and replace the coolant with Toyota Super Long Life which is pre-mixed.
Here is a tip on how to bleed the cooling system when refilling it:
I understand...a case can also be made to save the money you are spending doing things early for when they are actually needed.
Well I ended up taking it in and they basically said I did not need a Timing Chain or Spark Plugs ….. but they did recommend Transmission Oil change, which I said fine ! I did make a Quick Call to the Lexus Dealership and they gave me a Quote: of 499.99 so I feel Good about only having to pay 200.00

At what mileage do you replace the driver's seat and steering wheel? And what about replacing the driver's floor mat?
Just kidding.

I think that's money well spent particularly if Lexus never serviced the transmission. Last year the wife purchased a 2010 RX350 with 106k miles. Original owner always had it serviced at Lexus but no record of transmission service. Soon after purchase we had transmission fluid replaced at a non-dealer shop specializing in Lexus. Wife drives less than 10k miles a year so servicing the transmission was a One and Done for us.
