Passenger seat stops reclining out of the blue?????
Literally.
The seat has worked fine since I've brought the car and get's less wear than the drivers seat. I remember adjusting it about a week ago after I finished cleaning the interior. Last weekend my GF is like your seat doesn't move. I'm
When you hit the recline button you can hear the motor operate but the seat doesn't recline. You can feel something turning and it pushes the plastic cover out (circled in picture below) about a quarter inch every revolution.
Has this happened to anyone, is there a fix? Or am I looking at new seat? All the rest of the functions work: height adjustment, back/forth, heat and lumbar support. I'd hate to have to buy a new seat.

Can you manually recline the seat? The picture you posted seems like it shows the spring that allows the seat to fling back forward. It's also present on the the other side of the seat.
Try taking out the seat so you can get a better look. There are four bolts covered in plastic. Take the covers off with a screwdriver and the bolts need 27 lb-ft after install.
