Cool Hello, new to forum and just picked up a lexus sc400

i just wanted to say that now i understand what it is all about =). i just picked up a 92 sc400 darkgreen with 72,000 miles. body is in great condition and interior is ok. i cant wait to start fixing this baby up slowly but surely. has a few problems which i am sure some of you have seen. passanger window makes noise but does not move. driverside window is making some noise moving. climate display is dead. nakamichi is operating but no sound coming through to speakers. condensation in the headlights and passanger taillight. a little bumpy ride but probably from tires.
of course problems are expected with a 12.5 year old car but this is a keeper for life. i will repair as much as i can by myself and look forward to learning. i am proud to join the club and cannot wait to start exploring and learning some info from all of you experienced owners.
so thats all i have to say for now and now i'm done introducing myself. thank you very much.

wecome aboard! I have the same year and color but a few more miles, you'll dig the car for sure.with the electrical probs check that there wasn't some water damage thats maybe caused some shorts.the classifides"members" is a good place to pick up any small pieces you need to replace. or ebay .good luck!

Welcome aboard!

I have had my 93 Lexus from day one and right now looking at 135K for mileage. Can't say too much has gone wrong, but I did get the motor for the driver side window replaced last year (after the window would not go down).

Have fun, many of options to do to your Lex (let me know what you do on the stereo...my rear speakers are about shot).

Default sc4

i am looking for the amp to buy since i noticed there is none in the car... there is some water hiding out deep in the trunk which i will drain out too... looks like the water might have gotten to the amp by the look of the connecters.
i was wondering if it is possible to wire my xtant amp to the factory nakamichi system. i will keep researching and hopefully soon i will have some tunes in my car. cant wait.

I am looking into upgrading my Nakamichi system (probably in 6-month). I believe I read in this forum a few month back that the MTX 4250 class D amp works good as a replacement to the factory amp. On that same note an Alpine type R 10inch speaker would be a good replacement for the factory woofer. Since I have not done either of these, I can't tell you for sure.

Good luck. Gotta have my tunes.

from what I've read, you need the same amp.because of the way its wired into your system ie;radio /cd controles shouldn't be to hard if you just post in members classifieds under wtb amp.for.... make sure that your trunk seals are not leaking or you'll be going through this again man."that water got in there some how" check with ebay if you don't have any luck w/cl classifieds.goodluck.
