Is it just me or does it take a long time for the seats to warm up? I cant help but compare it to my E90 (3 series) and that warms up much much faster.

Wanted to hear your experiences to see if I should address this with the dealer or is that just normal/standard.

It certainly is NOT just you. This is a common complaint among Lexus/Toyota owners. Our 2001 RX, and the 2005 Avalon were exactly the same,, and so in our 2011 RX . There is absolutely no comparison to the heated/ventilated seats on our 2008 Cadillac CTS. The Cadillac seats heat up almost immediately and even on low are warmer than the Lexus on high. Also, on some GM seat (not mine) you can heat just the just the seat, just the back, or both the seat and the back at the same time. In my opinion, Lexus has a long way to go in this department.

My 2010 (h) works just fine, so well that most use in on low. Now that's not the case for the ventilation feature which is known to be week in this chair design.

I do not see any diference coming from LR or Audi seats.

Yeah, I hear Cadillac and Goverment Motors has been on the "HOT" seat for a while now........

I just noticed the same thing today when I was sitting in the passenger seat in the RX. My other car is an E60 530i and I can feel the seats warming up by the time I get to the first traffic light which is about 2 blocks away.

The seats in the RX are a bit cushier and also have the all the necessary provisions for seat ventilation so I'm guessing the heating element is a bit farther down under the surface. I doubt a dealership will do much about this unless the heating function wasn't working at all.

Every generation of RX has had a downgrade of the heated seats. The '99 would get HOT! The second generation were adjustable but were more moderate. Since I don't like hot seats I'm fine, but the males in my house miss the original RX.

I noticed the same as I have a 04rx330 and the heats get much warmer than my new 13/rx350. glad to see it wasnt just me as I was thinking I needed to complain to the service dept, but it seems its par for the course

Our 2010 RX350 w/ the heat/cool combo seats aren't much different than our BMW nor Porsche. Typically turn it on 1 or 2 settings and turn off as it gets pretty warm.

I'd be interested in seeing how quickly the surface of the seat warms up and what the target temperature is for the 3 different settings.

Should be pretty easy to compare among vehicles as long as you do the measurements right after each other and at night such as to minimize differences of the initial surface temperature because of variances in the interior color.
