Question cooled seats

Is there any difference in how seats are cooled in 2009, 2010, and 2011 LX570?

I think someone said 2013 there is a change. Nothing between2010 and 2008.

same function 2008-2011. 2013 has some sort of improved cooling function.

There is no cooling of the seats. The blue color is a cheap marketing ploy. It runs little fans that pushes ambient air up through the seats.

That has been my experience. Ventilated seats, but NOT "cooled" seats.

BMW 7-Series autos have "cooled" seats, and they work. MB, and Lexus LX-570's only have "ventilated" seats.

I thought that I had read that the CFM for the front seats had been upped for 2013, but could be very wrong.

Hunt,
You are correct. There has been an improvement. Along with more fan noise, and slightly harder seats.

I do not have enough experience with the LX-570, but the seats DO seem a bit hard.

For ventilation, I only know the MB S-Class vehicles, over the last 8 years, plus our driver's UK BMW 750L, with "chilled" front seats.

INCORRECT. this is true for most of the models. But LS430, LS460, and LX570 actually do have legitimate cooled seats. they have three modes. red for heated, white for ventilated, and blue for cooled. That being said, it's not like sitting in a freezer. They do make cool air, but it's not all that impressive

I drove a 2013 and the seat cooling did nothing. Well maybe if you used your imgination but were not power cooled with AC being forced through the seat.

This subject has consistently popped-up time and again on the RX forum. Because of anemic air flow to the seat backs, several suggestions were made to remedy this problem. All of them involve re-directing the air flow from the ducts under the seats to enhance the cooling effect. One such idea was to move the rear carpet mats forward enough and bent upward to block the air flow. I found this suggestion worked very well on my RXh.

You could be right.....I'll have to go look at a 2013 LX. I've been in them but I didn't specifically look at the climate controlled seat controller. The older 570's definitely did have cooled seats though. At least all the ones i've been in did. But like I said, it wasn't like sitting in a freezer. pretty lame to be honest.
